After DI Dick Romney is killed under the wheels of a tube train DI Walter Gambon, a widower with a teenage daughter Lily and DS Anne Hopkins are charged by naïve, young CS Addison to locate the undercover officer Dc Lenny Rice. Fifty grand has also gone missing which Dick gave to his informant though Walter himself has debts of his own and when Dick's widow tells Walter her late husband was expecting a windfall from an American uncle Walter suspects corruption. Identifying Dick's killer from the tube station CCTV Walter follows him home, makes an arrest, uncovers corruption involving the recently deceased undercover cop and finds the missing money - which comes in very useful for paying off his debts, especially when Addison believes his story that it will probably never be discovered.

Walter is a British television drama first broadcast on the launch night of Channel 4 on 2 November 1982. Based on a 1978 novel of the same name by David Cook, it was the first ever Film on Four.

W*A*L*T*E*R is a pilot for a spin-off of M*A*S*H made in 1984 that was never picked up. It starred Gary Burghoff, who reprised his M*A*S*H character.

The show relates the adventures of Corporal Walter O'Reilly after he returns home from the Korean War. He is no longer calling himself "Radar" and has moved away from Iowa after he sent his mother to live with his aunt. Settling in St. Louis, Missouri, by the beginning of the series he has become a police officer, though his character is still as in the original series.

The Walter Winchell File is the title of a television crime drama series that initially aired from 1957 to 1958, dramatizing cases from the New York City Police Department that were covered in the New York Daily Mirror. The series featured columnist and announcer Walter Winchell, John Larch, George Cisar, Robert Anderson, Robert Brubaker, Dolores Donlon, and Gene Barry, a year before he was cast in the lead of NBC's Bat Masterson.

Thirty-nine episodes were produced; the first twenty-six aired on ABC during the 1957-1958 season, and the final thirteen were seen in syndication in 1959.

Among the guest stars was the child actor Dennis Holmes, who played 7-year-old Allie Marisch in the 1957 episode "Thou Shalt Not Kill."
