Oprah has been an international mega-celebrity for the last 32 years with a TV show bearing her name. That's a little different from someone misspelling the name of tertiary character from the Bible after giving birth. People make spelling mistakes which is fine, but it's silly to suggest that people wouldn't know the name Oprah. That's like thinking there are celebrities named Char, Medonna, and Price. I see people online misspell her name as "Opera" all the time but "Orpha" is a new one on me.

This thread within a thread about Oprah is hilarious. When she first came on the scene, the first time I heard her name I thought people were saying Okra and I couldn't figure out who would name a child Okra. Anyway, I like the new spelling, Ophra... Yes, Ophra and her best friend, Loofah (someone else I'm not fond of).

I think Olivia handled it well. Carly did the same thing to Nelle with Nina only Nina didn't buy into it until she got burned.

Hopefully that won't happen to Olivia ... although I would love to see it.

He relinquished the Quartermaine name when he returned Avery to Sonny. It would seem to have been a repudiation of his biological family, although he does seem to enjoy the wealth and power it brings.

He relinquish the name, but Monica is still his grandmother. He still lives in her house with the other Q's. Monica considers Nelle's baby to be her great grandchild. So in everything but name, Michael is still a Quartermaine.
