Discuss One Piece

Hello,

There is something planned for traking the new diffusion of One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga, until Egghead will return in 2025 spring ?

Thx

I'm on the same page here. At least let it be added into the "Specials" season, if having it added as a separate series or even as an additional season of One Piece (1999) is something the mods are not okay with.

I agree that there needs to be a way to track this series. I understand the logic of adding it in specials, but looking ahead of what is planned, this will severely bloat the Specials seasons. Add to that the real possibility that other 'specials' such as the FAN LETTER episode could be inserted right into the middle of an ongoing season and it will become very, very messy.

The only clean way to deal with this, is to consider it a different series all together in the same way IMDB deals with it: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt33992229/?ref_=fn_al_tt_5

Japanese sources also refer to this as a new series, calling it a 'remake', but still a separate series all together. https://fod.fujitv.co.jp/title/00rh/ https://www.animatetimes.com/news/details.php?id=1730940237

Even though not being a remake of the entire series, it is a complete remake of a chapter of the manga, completely redrawn and reanimated.

In my opinion, either this is added as a new series, making it a clean way of tracking the show without interfering with the existing one, or the episodes are added to the specials season of One Piece, which will IMHO eventually turn out to be pretty messy.

In fact, the same was done for Dragon Ball ... and I'm not talking about KAI. Dragon Ball Z is the anime continuation of the anime Dragon Ball and is a series that only adapts certain chapters from the manga. If we would apply the logic that a series that only adapts certain chapters of a manga into anime, then the entirety of Dragon Ball Z would have had to be added in the SPECIALS season of Dragon Ball. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Just my 2 cents ...

confirmed info : its officially released by the original maker of One piece.

remake and recut of certain contents.

maybe should take it as special seasons instead of new series or just let it vanish.
after all they do have new content more or less right ? as i know tmdb tends to put same IP together, which i highly agreed. hope this can be solved and we dont miss any unique videos.

TMDB doesn't allow alternate versions.

dear mod maybe we need a clear definition of "alternative version".

original release + recut = alternative , YES

original release + totally remake ( same story, redrawn and reanimated ) = alternative, NO

original release + recut + NEW content + partially remake ( same story, redrawn and reanimated ) = alternative, YES / NO ?

OR just to my understanding of mod replies if the video contains any frame of original release , even only 1 frame, despite of 99.9% new content, is considered as alternative version?

is that correct? btw, explain Dragon Ball or just ALTERNATE them too.

The Bible say : "We generally do not support series re-edits. However, we made a exception for the following series: Dragon Ball Z Kai and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096. If you believe a re-edit deserves an exception, please run it by us first. If you don't, it will most likely be deleted."

I invite you to plead the case.

But, in my personal opinion, the 2 cases are not similar. "Dragon Ball Z Kai" was a re-edit of a complete series. Here, this is just a re-edit of one story arc.

Every creation of the series done before a decision has been taken by the team will be deleted.

Greetings,

This is a re-edit of one story arc, but there's also new visual effects, changes to shadows and brightness, and some scenes were redrawn. Apart from visual changes, the edited version has new music and sound effects. I believe those are similarities this re-edit has in common with Dragon Ball Kai. I humbly plead for your reconsideration.

+1 It is not appropriate to use it as a new season, and it is also wrong to edit it into the 14th season, which will destroy the original number of episodes and content.

Other examples of this not being simply a re-cut

example 1 example 2 example 3 example 4

Please reconsider

Are those rules set in stone forever? It seems like a database that fails to reflect the real world is a sign of becoming obsolete because its usefulness drops significantly.

+1 up for this issue, as there have been enough arguments to justify at least a new series entry for this re-edit of this story arc
