You know I would love to get involved and contribute by uploading profile pics for actors. I fix the pixel ratio with a program I have called "snag-it". However, my pic always gets rejected for aspect ratio not being correct. Does anyone have any good tips on perhaps some free software that allows me to edit a picture to fit the correct aspect ratio? I would love to help out guys but this just makes me wanna throw my hands up in the air and quit.

All you ever going to need for image processing: https://www.gimp.org/
What do you mean by fixing the pixel ratio? Only program called "snag-it" I could find is a screen capture program. Why would you use screen captures, not original image files? Are you using anamorphic images from movies, that don't have 1:1 pixel ratio?

Snag-it gives you the ability the readjust the pixels so I can meet the minimum requirements. I am not using snag-it to grab the pics. I am grabbing the pics from other websites and saving them and jpg to my PC.
Thanks for the link, I will check it out.

In most images the pixel aspect ratio is a square. BryGur was talking about non-square pixels.
example of non-square pixels
But that doesn't sound like what you mean. Do the following using the free Paint program in the Accessories folder found in Start > All programs.
Use the Select tool to drag a perfect (same pixels H x W) square over the image containing the portion of the image you wish to include and click Crop. You can watch the pixels h&w at the bottom of the screen too know when you have a perfect square.
Use the Resize tool (set to pixels) to lower the h&w pixels to the recommended amount.
Re-save as jpg or png.
That's it, and it takes less then a minute to do.

Here's a tutorial. It takes ten times longer to read the tutorial then it does to Crop and Resize an image.

The most important part is to select a PERFECT square BEFORE cropping. You can eyeball it and watch the selection box's h&w pixels increase at the bottom of Paint's window as you drag your cursor over your image.

I, too, have been unable to successfully post any actor/actress pictures that I've attempted to. In my case, I each time attempted "eyeball" cropping the pictures to the right looking/seeming sort of shape, though clearly never quite managed to get it right.

Just remember to crop the image. If you change the aspect ratio of the image (say going from 1:1 - a square - to our preferred 1:1.5) without cropping, the end result will be a distorted image.
So, movie_nazi, the image you added for Chetna Pandy was both a little bit distorted and also not quite good enough quality. So that's why it was deleted by a moderator.
In summary: make sure you all know how your image programs work before adding any images. That is my best advice.

Good advice, Lineker. I think that probably using tips given throughout this thread that I'll likely be able to figure out how to properly go about it the next time I try.

This app very simple to use.
There's a white box in the center of a dark gray window. Above are your H&W pixels numbers. You set your pixels to what you want and the white box resizes to those dimensions. Use the photo library button to drop your image into the white box. Use your thumb and forefinger to enlarge/reduce/rotate the image to fit within the white box. Then save.

Darn it! I thought I had it. This honestly does not encourage people to want to help out. I didn't think the pic looked that bad. I guess I'll be back when I have my graphic arts degree.

We always want to keep a very good standard for our images. I added a good quality Chetna Pandya image for you.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but @movie_nazi I also deleted the season regular credits you added to The Walking Dead. IronE Singleton was already credited as a guest star for season one to three, as he should be.
Only cast members with a series regular status as per the season on-screen credits or the press releases can be added as season regulars (and preferably only the season regulars who are in all or most episodes of a season).
I know it looks complicated, but it's not that bad once you get used to it.

Wait, I don't get it. Why would he be considered a guest star when he was clearly a regular for the first 3 seasons?
