Four college students travel to Europe to escape their routine faith and gain a radically new perspective on following Jesus.

A radical Christian group's lecture tour of US colleges was filmed in the cinema verité tradition, with hand held camera, sync and wild sound. To avoid making a conventional documentary, the filmmaker created a dynamic collage by stroboscopically editing together pairs of scenes using a rapid rhythm of three-frame units.

Professor Robert Beckford looks at how immigration, radical social action, conservative morality and charismatic worship are all transforming the face of the faith, and asks what that might mean for the future in an increasingly secular society. Some academics are warning that popular churches who take a firm line on issues like gay marriage, abortion and euthanasia are pushing Christianity farther away from the attitudes of mainstream society. Others believe that the fervour of charismatic faith is attracting large numbers, but ignoring a quiet exodus out of the back door. Robert Beckford speaks to church leaders in the UK, including the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, about how they see the future. This revealing film gets to the heart of what’s changing within Christianity in the UK. It will show how the faithful are kicking back against the steady decline in church attendance, and provide evidence of a more committed, but potentially divided, future.

The Assyrians of the Middle East are among the oldest Christian communities in the world: the Apostle Paul is said to have converted on the road to Damascus and many Assyrians still speak Aramaic, the language of Jesus. Yet today, the descendants of the first Christians face persecution and displacement, as war and instability grip their homelands. Examining the experience of some of the last Christian communities in Turkey and Iraq, this doc offers a window into a world of a minority fighting for survival.

This work was created in response to Christian Lebrat's installation, "R1R2R3R4 (Who's Afraid Of...)". Through rapid panning and tilting the camera it became possible to convert the installation's curtain panels into flickering colourful textures, reminiscent of "Holon" (1981).

In the sixteenth century Portuguese Catholic missionaries introduced Christianity to Japan. The religion flourished for about fifty years, but by 1614 the Tokugawa government issued an edict that outlawed Christianity and expelled the missionaries from Japan. About 150,000 believers went underground and continued to practice their religion in secret. These people are known as the "Hidden Christians". Otaiya, meaning "Big Evening" is the Hidden Christian version of Christmas Eve. Through the occasion of this ceremony, the film tells the story of Japan's Hidden Christians. Made with the cooperation of contemporary Hidden Christians on the remote island of Narushima, the film features the only two remaining priests in the Goto Islands.

Beethoven’s Missa solemnis was performed on 13 and 14 February 2010 at the traditional memorial concert to commemorate the bombardment of dresden during the last weeks of World War II. Under Christian Thielemann, the Staatskapelle Dresden proved itself exceptionally qualified to master this work’s magnificient challenges. Thielemann “conjured up the gigantic cosmos of the Missa with such lightness and grace that its mystery seemed to reveal itself”, wrote the Frankfurter Allgemeine-Zeitung. No less remarkable was the fabulously homogenous solo quartet of singers.
