All things Kamala Harris no longer believes about Joe Biden

It’s amazing how access to power changes a politician’s opinion. As the past four years have demonstrated, this inconsistency isn’t limited to one party. Since the national media won’t dwell on what Harris said about Biden, let’s reminiscence.

Her best moment came during the first debate when she savaged Biden, repeatedly implying that he was a racist, in starkly personal terms.

She said it was “hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on segregation of race in this county.” She attacked him for opposing forced busing.

Harris did start that exchange by telling Biden, “I do not believe you are a racist.” That was the equivalent of your spouse saying, “I’m not upset,” before listing all the things he or she is angry about.

Early in the campaign, Harris was asked about women who accused Biden of touching them inappropriately. That list has at least two Nevada connections. Former Nevada Assemblywoman Lucy Flores accused Biden of smelling her hair and giving her a “big slow” kiss without consent. Caitlyn Caruso, who was 19 at the time, said Biden placed his hand on her thigh during a UNLV event four years ago. She said he left his hand there even as she squirmed in discomfort.

“I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it,” Harris said last year when asked about those allegations.

Don’t expect her to maintain that stance.

Whether you think Reade’s story is true or not, her accusation is notably stronger than the one made by Christine Blasey Ford against Brett Kavanaugh. For instance, there are records that Reade worked in Biden’s office. Aside from Ford’s testimony, there’s no evidence she and Kavanaugh were at a party together. Harris, however, said, she “believed” Ford’s testimony and called her a “profile in courage.” Don’t expect Harris to say anything similar about Reade.

It’s almost like “believe all women” was a cynical political tactic rather than a deeply held principle.

You may never know what Harris really thinks about Biden. But this flip-flopping reveals plenty about her character — or lack thereof.

I’ll be damned. Integrity, decency, love, unity are a few of the words that people throw around lately. Where is all that stuff in this mess? I see hypocrisy, so far. These people don’t care who you are or what you’ve done. You’re OK, as long as you can help them in some way. Is really sad. It wouldn’t be so bad if they quit pretending they’re morally better than the opposition. In this case, Trump shows you what kind of son of a dog he is while Biden does and says what he thinks will get him votes. He’s a perv with racist tendencies. So he chose a woman of color to show he’s pro women and POCs.

 It is unclear when the photo of Natalia Garibotto was given an endorsement by the pope’s verified account, but the “like” was still visible on 13 November before being unliked the next day, according to the Catholic News Agency (CNA).

 COY Co, Garibotto’s management company, made the most of the publicity and reposted the image on its own Instagram account last Friday saying the company had “received the POPE’S OFFICIAL BLESSING”.

 Garibotto, who has 2.4 million Instagram followers, is also reported to have joked: “At least I’m going to heaven.”

 A team of people manage the pope’s various social media accounts.

 Pope Francis is hugely popular across social media, with his official Instagram account, which operates under the username franciscus, attracting 7.4 million followers. The account does not follow any other accounts.

 Over on Twitter, the pope is followed by 18.8 million accounts. In 2017, he was the most popular world leader on the social media platform.

 But he very rarely composes social media content himself.

 “He does, for example, approve the tweets – but not the likes – and on very rare occasions he has said he would like to tweet something because of a developing situation or emergency. So he would have nothing to do with this – it’s the communications department, and how this happens … who knows.”

Kanye said to Jimmy Kimmel that he still watches Pornhub and his favorite category is Blacked. That seems to mean black men with white women. He said that it’s his own reality. And now he’s a preacher? lol Religion has become a joke. Justin Bieber put his life into pastor Carl Lentz’s hands and he turned out to be a liar and cheater. No, but I might as well be. Except for the bf, I’m living a pretty nun-ish life lately. I spend my Friday and Saturday nights at home. I wake up at 08:00 on Saturday and Sunday instead of 14:00. That means twice six extra hours to be aware of the pandemic. I’m pretty sure the Catholic girls are having more fun than me. They get to dress up and go sing hallelujah in church. I might join them, as soon as I’ve mustered up enough energy to climb out of my depressed pit and go buy depressing clothes, underwear and shoes for church.

UK becomes first country to authorize Pfizer/BioNTech's Covid-19 vaccine, first shots roll out next week

A final analysis of the Phase 3 trial of the vaccine shows it was 95% effective in preventing infections, even in older adults, and caused no serious safety concerns, Pfizer said last month.

The announcement means the UK has vaulted past the United States and European Union in the race to approve a vaccine, months into a pandemic that has killed almost 1.5 million people worldwide.

The UK has ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine -- enough to vaccinate 20 million people. Hancock told the BBC that an initial 800,000 doses would be delivered from Pfizer's facilities in Belgium to the UK next week, and "many millions" more before the end of the year.

Elderly people in care homes, those who care for them, health workers and other vulnerable people will be top of the priority list.

The rollout will then filter down to the general public by age, with older groups coming first. Individuals with underlying health conditions that make them vulnerable to the virus will be able to receive the shot after the over-65 group is vaccinated.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the news "fantastic" in a Downing Street press conference on Wednesday, saying that "we are no longer resting on the mere hope that we can return to normal next year in the spring, but rather on the sure and certain knowledge that we will succeed, and together reclaim our lives."

The UK health department said the approval "follows months of rigorous clinical trials and a thorough analysis of the data" by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), which had "concluded that the vaccine has met its strict standards of safety, quality and effectiveness."

MHRA chief Dr. June Raine insisted that "no corners have been cut" during a news conference Wednesday. Raine said the clinical trials were "overlapping" to make progress on the process faster. "Separate teams have been working in parallel to deliver this review," she added.

Stevens also noted that the vaccine has to be given in two doses 21 days apart, so the process will take time. Second doses will also need to be reserved for people who get a first shot in December, he said, emphasizing that people will need to continue practicing social distancing guidance and be careful as the vaccine is deployed to the wider population.

At a news conference with BioNTech executives in Mainz, Germany, BioNTech CEO Sahin said full immunity against Covid-19 would occur seven days after a patient's second dose.

Marett said the companies hoped to have 50 million doses ready by the end of December. "The UK, like every country, gets a fair proportion," he said, adding that 100 million doses are committed to the US, 200 million to the EU and 40 million to the UK.

Speaking to CNN after the news conference, Sahin raised the possibility of herd immunity by next autumn.

The news of the UK authorization could also cause a bit of a stir in the US. Earlier this week, President Donald Trump privately demanded to know why the US Food and Drug Administration hadn't granted emergency use for Pfizer's vaccine yet, two sources told CNN.

BioNTech and Pfizer submitted their vaccine candidate to the FDA in mid-November, and the regulator's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee is due to meet on December 10 to consider authorization. They have also submitted their candidate to the EU's European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is set to deliver a verdict later in December.

Another vaccine, from US biotech firm Moderna, is awaiting approval in various countries, including the US and UK. The company expects to have 20 million doses available in the US by the end of the year and 500 million to 1 billion in 2021. The UK has secured 7 million doses of Moderna's vaccine, which is set to be available in Europe in spring 2021. Moderna has also submitted its vaccine to the EMA in Europe, which will look at it on January 12.

I know. I was dancing in my undies when I realized that my age, weight and health will put me at the bottom of the list. That was reason to put on clothes. Ah, well.
