Discuss Henry Cavill

A thread for MI6.

While discussing the sixth film in the franchise, "Mission: Impossible — Fallout," at CinemaCon on Wednesday, Cruise detailed one of the film's action sequences, in which Cruise's Ethan Hunt jumps from a plane at nearly 30,000 feet to catch Henry Cavill's free-falling character.

To get the three shots that he and director Christopher McQuarrie (who returns after directing "Mission Impossible — Rogue Nation") wanted, Cruise jumped out of a C-17 plane 106 times.

That must be a typo. Maybe 16 times.

So, while Ethan Hunt is concerned with saving the day at every possible opportunity, Walker is more of a company man who plays by the CIA's rules. Ethan views Walker as an ineffective asset, while Walker views Ethan as an IMF wild card who does more harm than good.

As the Man of Steel actor noted, Walker is far more willing to leave a massive body count in his wake when he operates, while Ethan seems to hold human life in much higher regard.

Of course, the differences between Walker and Ethan also seem to extend to fighting styles as well. As the trailers for Mission: Impossible - Fallout have shown us, Walker carries some big guns and also IS a big gun. He is all about raw stopping power, while Ethan tends to be quicker and a bit nimbler. With the two expected to come to blows at least once during Fallout's story, it will be fascinating to see how those styles coalesce with one another.

I don’t care about any other stunt. I just wanna see the fight between HC and TC.

We should move all the MI6 info in my thread to this thread.

Yeah. I want someone from MI6 to confirm this in a vid.

Your English is better than mine, but I think they are just speculating that TC and HC might fight eventually. Let's hope they do.

TC won't let HC win. LOL

“I sure wasn’t expecting that to happen,” Cavill told our own Kevin Polowy at CinemaCon about the public’s fascination with his mustache. Nonetheless, he’s anything but disappointed by the internet’s response. “I love that it has. It’s cool. I can show my grandkids one day.”

HC talks about grandkids, but he doesn’t have kids. LOL

Good. But where is the link? rolling_eyes

I don't remember exactly what HC said, but it sounded like he wanted kids of different "colors" (race). It also sounded like he would go to a store to get them. joy

I don't have time to look for the link right now. I'm already multi-tasking. But I'll post it next time.

That would cost too much. The MI films have a production budget around a $150 million.

I don't think so.

Here's the set up. It's a high-altitude, low-window jump from a massive plane that's traveling nearly 200 mph. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is on mission with Henry Cavill's character, CIA agent August Walker. The scene is set at sunset over the city of Paris, meaning they only had three minutes of natural light in which to capture the scene each time they attempted it. (And they attempted it more than 100 times.) The two men argue as Ethan plans to change the plan at the last minute. Only, Walker doesn't want to wait. He pulls Ethan's oxygen line out then makes the jump himself. Ethan has to follow. But because this is a Mission movie, and the stakes need to be even higher than that, Christopher McQuarrie explained:

As Ethan is getting ready to jump out of the plane, because we like to add a complication or two, through the opened gate [Ethan] sees that there's a massive lightning storm over the city they're supposed to be diving into.

As Simon Pegg said from the stage:

The difference between us watching Tom do those stunts to when you watch him do them is that you know he lived. It is a daily stress going to work with him because you don't know if you are going to see him tomorrow. And that can be scary!

HC chooses his words very carefully. Read and see the vid here.

Things are hectic. So stop bothering me about links. I posted the link, but I was told it was a wrong link. So I deleted it. It was a Yahoo link. The content changes after awhile.

I think confirming SM is in Shazam will make the fans more excited to see Shazam. Shazam will have his own fans and the SM fans.

Leaving SM out of the JL promo wasn't a good idea. And right now, people are eager to see the new and hopeful SM.

Yeah, you better find that link. stuck_out_tongue

He said: ''I couldn't be happier right now. Things are fantastic. I've got so much opportunity, I feel very fortunate.

''I mean, the next stage is finding a wife and getting kids - not getting them, having them hopefully.''
