I loved this film. Please name other tearjearkers and say a few words for your recommendations.
Also, please add a small note to say if there's any lips-to-lips kissing between a man and woman. (That's my way of determining if it's a romance film that happens to be a tearjerker, or really a tearjerker without a side dish of romance. :)

Have you seen "Away From Her"? It is very deep and emotional, but you won't like it if you want to watch something more fluffy. And btw, even short descriptions of the movie spoil it,....so be careful researching it....haha.

A Walk to Remember Spoiler Years ago my sister (who does have bad taste in films) made me watch 'A Walk to Remember'. She bet I would cry. I didn't know what the film was about, but I rolled my eyes and started watching. When the main character said to her boyfriend that she had cancer, my sister looked straight at me and I burst into tears.
I did get my sister back. I called her to say I had just watched Toy Story 3 (when it was out in the cinema) and that I cried so much. She said it was just a cartoon (I know sacrilege) and how can anyone cry about such silly things. Months later she called me and I said hello. There was silence then blubbering. I was like hello, you ok? Then my sister burst into tears and said she just watched Toy Story 3. I laughed so much. She even cried at the bits I found very sad (furnace scene and of course the end)
The Green Mile was such a tearjerker that a lady in the cinema ran out crying before the film finished. I had such a huge lump in my throat that when she ran out it set me off and I could not stop the tears. Great film if you have not seen it. Don't watch any trailers. I went in not knowing what it was about and it made the experience even better. It is very hardcore though and nothing like Gifted. Loved Gifted though. Great film.

Not seen "Gifted". Are we talking happy, sad or bittersweet tears?
I'm going to start with:

Thanks Michelle for the Spolier alert. My eyes stopped reading after that warning. I've heard of that movie but thought it was just a romance film. Your comment makes me think otherwise.

LeMarchand. You haven't seen a film and you're listening to discussions? lol. Welcome :) . Since you asked, not happy tears. (The movie had a happy ending, but when I got teary-eyed, it wasn't at happy scenes). Sad tears.

Yeah, I haven't seen it in a while. But it was great. The father and son relationship was moving

LOL! I check the "Recent Discussions" bit from time to time! I guess that this topic might be better in a "General Discussion" area anyway, but it was understandably removed due to abuse .
"Sad" tears? I'll have to knock out a few.
Thinking about it, I seem to be more likely to be affected by "dust in my eye" at happy moments rather than sad. If I ever get time this week, I'll have to check down my list/shelves to see what else might do the trick.

'Miss Potter' with Renee Zellweger is similar to 'Gifted' in that you go through all kinds of emotions. I would defo highly recommend. Such a great story and Beatrix Potter herself was awesome.

Michelle, I've just watched the film (actually, the end credits were playing as I started this reply.). Thank you very much for suggesting this movie. I've rated it 10 stars on this site. I loved how Landon was changed for the better by her. I was amused when Jamie made him promise not to fall in love with her. (And his initial response indicating how easy it would be to keep this promise.) I loved how Landon's dad made it possible for the daughter of a preacher of a small country church to get medical care at home.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and agree with everything you have said.
Now watch: The Green Mile - Don't watch the trailers, Miss Potter, The Notebook, Beaches - Bett Midler's version NOT that cheap remake Lifestyle made. My gosh that was awful.

Another word about A Walk To Remember. This was a movie that was not only entertaining, but also inspiring/moving. I loved how Landon was inspired to be a better person because of Jamie. Awwww. His mom found a note while doing his laundry. The note included his goals, one of which was to become a doctor. It's not explicitly stated if this was a sign of his heart turning towards his cardiologist Dad, or to help future Jamies (terminally ill young people). But it was clearly a different Landon. :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. (Thanking you four times for these four recommendations. :) )
