Discuss Star Trek: Discovery

Its been 12 years since our last episode, maybe give it a break?... a chance? You lot keep jumping on the nearest band-wagon and get perfectly good shows cancelled. I enjoyed it, special effects and cast were great. Looking forward to the next episode, that's right, next episode, Star Trek has always been about individual stories and should be judged as a body of work.

His apology came later. Interesting that you ignore that.

He figured out that I was right; why can't you?

Yeah, after you stalked him for 3 days, he tried to appease you to get you off his back. Good work, psycho. All because he deleted your post. lol

Already done. But I expect you'll ignore that too.

Nice tactics editing your posts ex post facto just to make yourself look better. But all I ever did was write a post to people that because of how TMDB works, where if the original poster of a thread deletes their initial post the WHOLE THING goes away - which didn't happen on imdb - they might want to be careful about making long, involved posts to threads that jetfire started, because he'd developed a bit of a pattern - and he had, ask him yourself if you like - of erasing whole threads that way if he got frustrated or something. Which isn't fair to other people who had made a lot of contributions. Which he agreed to. If that's "stalking" and/or "harassing" in what passes for your mind, then it seems you have even more problems than he did.

I take it the new series is basically one overall story (a little like the BSG remake) not singular episodes like the old star trek shows?

So far, anyway. but it's only been 3 eps. Yet it does seem likely to continue that way at least for a while.

Thanks for the info, this will make me wait a little while longer before starting it so I can watch multiple episodes in one sitting

Well it isn't so bad to see the first 3 in a row, that are available now. But I can see how people could be disappointed and a little anxious if they only saw the first two then had to wait.

Yeah I have a Netflix account. If they singular type episodes I would just pick at them whenever I have a spare moment maybe after a movie, but, following on together type episodes means I would like to watch them like a used to do with each season of ‘24’ = in one sitting

Ok but Trump doesn't "give" anyone tax breaks, that's legislation that he's willing to sign rather than Obama (or president Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders etc) would veto if it even got started. And they qualify as "getting out of the way" rather than "giving" that wasn't there before. Leftys/democrats/etc view tax cuts as a "giveaway" etc versus the truth of people just keeping more of what was theirs to start with.

No, Trump is trying to completely overhaul the tax code. That's something he initiated and is bringing forth. That's well beyond "getting out of the way".

You're obviously right:

"The Dow's highest closing record is 22,661.64 set on October 4, 2017. Investors were encouraged by President Trump's tax reform plan." https://www.thebalance.com/dow-jones-closing-history-top-highs-and-lows-since-1929-3306174

From what I've seen on other boards, that knixon tool is always arguing with everyone, and seems like he has Aspergers.

How is simplifying tax rates and exemptions and etc, not getting out of the way? Yes it takes a law or "policy" to do that, the same as it takes a new law action to repeal an old law, it doesn't just happen out of nowhere; but the thing being accomplished is getting out of the way. Less overall regulation and government intervention, not more. Otherwise you might as well argue that taking away something from someone is really positive, because it's an action. It's difficult to understand how something so simple could be so difficult for some people to grasp.

What's next, you go on claiming 2+2=5 and me saying you're wrong only proves I'm autistic? That's an amusing claim but doesn't make you correct.

@Knixon

lol, I'm not about to play tardball with you, freakshow . You'll have to find someone else to practice your autism on.

Not my fault you don't understand either logic or economics. Sadly, there are millions of people who have the same problem. Unfortunately they mostly vote for democrats.

LOLOL!

You're another that doesn't understand that getting out of the way - which is actually LESS government "policy" and intervention, not MORE - or at least the promise/expectation of it, is what leads to the stock market records and other economic growth and improvements? How sad. Even worse, that's the type who could easily believe democrat claims that the more they meddle, the better things will get. No matter how many times it fails.
