I honestly can't bear this couple. By far one of the worst pairings in a while.

I liked him with Hayden and when he was battling his addiction problem. I also like him with Roxie, his bearded dragon. Now there doesn't seem to be much for him to do.

Good point. He had his best chemistry with Roxy. Not sure how that would work on a soap. Could be controversial.

Roxy was his beard.

-ed dragon.

You guys are FOCKED up.

Anna and Finn bother me because of their lack of chemistry, not because Finola Hughes looks like an old hag -- which she doesn't. She looks damn good for her age and has aged naturally. Can't believe this is what the thread turned into.

I never not get repulsed by these comments on women's appearances. Thinking of all the mean attacks on Jackie Zemen and her botched plastic surgery, Leslie Charleston and her looks, Jane Elliot, Nancy Lee Grahn, Genie Francis, and the list goes on.

I might die before I ever see comment on how schlubby that Kin Shriner is, with his receding hairline and bags under his eyes -- and to think his character was tapping someone who looks as good as Lynn Herring.

Briaba is right to call this double standard BS. All these veteran broads look focking great.

I've wasted many a preachment on lonely old gay guys who think they are 'catches' that young hairless wonders would want. It's a tossup as to who the most vain and shallow group of people on the planet are- gay males or teenaged girls.

No, I don't have a double standard. I would hate to see Sonny paired with Nelle, or Griffin paired with Kiki. Also, there was quite a bit of gagging going on when it was thought that Brenda might have seduced a young and drunk Michael. I know that age differences can work in real life, but it's not always appealing to watch in a soap, for me at least.

I just Googled the ages of Easton and Hughes and am shocked to see there is only a seven year age difference between them. I thought he was in his late 40's and she in her early to mid 60's. So I guess they are not that far apart in age--my bad. Still, I see zero chemistry between them. And my point still stands that almost every male in PC has fallen in love with Anna, and I don't get it.

With all due respect to Finola Hughes, I find it very unlikely that she was 23 in "Staying Alive" and only 25 when she first appeared on GH as the mother of a 6 year old. In any case, Anna might be more than Finola's age. They have stated Peter's birth year as 1976 and Anna was already establishing herself as an up-and-coming agent at the time, likely in her early-mid 20s (remember her time with Valentin would have been before Peter was born). That would make her well into her 60s now. And Finn looks 45 to me.

I'm no big fan of older man-younger woman either and think it's a little creepy (if 15+ years). And while I'm no expert on the social dating habits of gay men, I can say that in all my years of working in the theater most gay men I knew over 40 pined for twinks in their 20s. It's not just a hetero phenom.

Wrong. Teenage girls are actually really thoughtful, introspective, and complex human beings. I can tell you because I know a lot of them, and I was one of them, like really recently. And teen girls being vain and shallow is a trite stereotype that should die with your generation.

Except it's not, as I work in retail with many kids, and they are even more vain now than a decade ago due to selfies. It's still a tossup, but both groups are immensely vapid.

It's not a double standard. And I also don't think anyone was mocking Hughes (aside from apparently fudging her age), but that she and Easton don't look good together because of the age difference. If Anna was shtupping Edward (when alive), the comments would have been reversed. There have been plenty of jokes about Mo Be when he's man-whoring with too-beautiful women younger than him, including Nelle when it looked like they might have sex a few years ago. In fact, I think there were some posts about how off-putting the potential romance scenes between Ava and Scotty were based on his age. Please don't cherry pick facts just to find a reason to be morally outraged.

Shabnaj, admittedly we are a somewhat blunt group of people on this forum. We pretty much say whatever we think. I agree that Finola looks good for her age, but I honestly thought she was in her mid sixties. HD TV is a friend to no one. And in addition to having no chemistry in terms of personality, Finn and Anna have no physical chemistry. And she does look a lot older than he does. That is just my opinion. There is no need for moral outrage.

I'll give Fin credit for not going under the knife. I think she actually is better looking, relative to her age group, than 30 years ago- she got her teeth fix and lost her baby fat. But she and Finn have nada going for them.

I'm not cherry picking. I'm pointing out a trend of disproportionate comments made against women's looks -- especially the older women. Finola Hughes, in particular, gets a lot of flack no matter who she is paired with. Similar comments were made during NuSloane, and they looked about the same age.

And when is it acceptable to be *~morally outraged~? I recall you getting up in arms whenever there was a new post about Zeman's face. Sometimes we're sensitive to how women's appearances are talked about.

Am I the ONLY person who likes Finn and Anna? The only complaint I have is how long they've been dragging it out. Nina and Valentin are by far my fave couple on the show and I seem to be the only one who likes them too. Oh well.

You are not the only person who likes Nina and Valentin together, I do, and I believe there are some other fans on this forum who do as well.

No one here has said that Finola is a bad looking woman, in fact the opposite is true, everyone has stated that she is a good-looking woman. However, she does look like she's in her mid-60s, at least to me. I don't see why that is such a horrible statement. Part of this is due to HD TV, and the fact we can now see every single line and wrinkle on someone's face where as in previous years we did not. There are a lot of reasons why I don't like Anna and Finn together, primarily because it seems so random. I actually believe Finn and Alexis are more believable because they've spent the past few years building up a solid friendship. Finn and Anna came out of the blue. And I do think that Finn looks like he's in his forties and Anna looks like she's in her 60s, so physically I don't see them together sexually. I don't think that I'm being cruel by stating this opinion. And I disagree with your statement that there is a disproportionate amount of criticism leveled toward the females. No one has been the butt of more jokes than Sonny, and his shoe polished hair, or Spinelli. Nuff said about him. Just a few days someone here was commenting on how they thought Chase has an unattractive face. If you were on this form daily, Shab, you would see that we are an equal opportunity group in terms of criticism leveled against both genders.

I think Finola is attractive, but people confuse actor and character. They write Anna as if she is still capable of being a superbabe in high heels. That stereotype, of the stilletto heeled 120 pound woman overpowering an NFL sized lineman is ridiculous, but it's even worse to see Anna writtenlike this. At near 60 she should have learnt something and to slow down.

I thought Tristan looked bad a few weeks ago but they apparently have made him up t look a decade or so younger than he looked then. Anna should be worrying about her WSB pension and so forth, not still pulling guns on scum like Jason.

Especially since Anna has blood cancer!

How was Tristan made to look a decade or more younger? I didn't notice any change.

Yes, I think it's time to stop writing Anna as a high - heeled, bad guy chasing bad ass and give her a more realistic storyline.

HD TV is a friend to no one......OMG LOL and sadly so true.

I should clarify.....there are many gay couples with an age difference. The point I was trying to make (clumsily so, my bad) was that we don't have the gender difference to point at and say oh how can she be with that old dude or vice versa. As long as two people are happy together I couldn't care less about their ages respective to one another. I would, however, like Sonny's next romantic partner to older than he is. Of course Jason might get jealous......

I don't know how, but the first scenes he came back in he looked all of his 70+ years. Now, he looks hale and robust as he decks a guy 20+ years his junior.
