Item: Chernobyl
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: Some of the info here is locked, yet needs reopening to add a few details. For example, the drama's country of origin is (as wiki states) both the UK and the US, not just the US. It is also a joint Sky/HBO production, so the production info needs amending to include Sky. Also the language is not just English, there is a scene in Russian (with subtitles) in ep 1, which is the actual emergency telephone call.
Also as per Wiki, I have amended the main cast here to include actors that Wiki have placed in the main cast list. The rest of the cast I have added to each episode.

Thanks for your report!
Please keep in mind -> Wiki is not a reliable source and you should always question everything that this user generated website states! Also, they might define country of origin very differently from TMDb!
So, let's take a look into the Contribution Bible, section origin country:
"The origin country should be paired with the original air dates. It is the country where the show originally aired in."
For this show, it's more complicated -> because international co-production -> scroll down in the bible:
"Two or more networks can be added when the series is broadcast simultaneously in the original language AND a) the countries are equal producing partners or b) international networks have a producing or "in association with" credit in the original credits. In the context of international broadcast with time difference (e.g. US/UK), simultaneously is defined as broadcast the same day."
The bold part is important -> as far as I know, the show was not broadcast simultaneously! HBO aired the episodes Mondays in the US, Sky Atlantic aired them Tuesdays in the UK. Not the same day! Which means -> origin country is the USA only, not UK. At least that's how I understand the rules in the bible - but it's pretty complicated ...
Bible again:
"Typically only the very first network to air the series should be added to the network list."
And that's HBO.
There are different rules for spoken languages:
I assume the main language in this show is English? Or is Russian equally used by (main) characters?
Yes, that seems correct. I fixed a few things today in the cast list (a few character names) and I added the whole crew (which took me half the day) for the show.

Hmm, it's a bit confusing isn't it?
"Two or more networks can be added when the series is broadcast simultaneously in the original language AND a) the countries are equal producing partners or b) international networks have a producing or "in association with" credit in the original credits. In the context of international broadcast with time difference (e.g. US/UK), simultaneously is defined as broadcast the same day."
For me, BIB, should allow it to be listed as a joint UK/US production and a joint HBO/Sky production. Yes it may not have been broadcast simultaneously (Sky Atlantic usually broadcast their stuff, like Game of Thrones, after midnight on the day of release so it may not correspond with the actual US transmission, but it is roughly in the same ballpark. That said I'm not sure if this was the case here, but I wouldn't be surprised)but it does appear to be an equal production partnership and it does have the all important credit at the commencement of each ep 'HBO...Sky'
Even if HBO broadcast it a few hours before Sky, then I take your point that in the network it should just read HBO. But the production credit? I'm still not so sure.
I do also take your point about the language - as it's just one brief scene.
:)

Yes, it is! I went back and forth yesterday with this and I'm still not sure I read the rules correctly? And, of course, if those rules actually make sense or should be revised?
I agree with you -> it is a US/UK co-production for HBO/Sky, no doubt. However, if I read the rule correctly, it has to be broadcast simultaneously to allow UK/Sky Atlantic to be added here on TMDb. For me, personally, the rule doesn't really make sense in this specific case - it should be added.
I'm going to keep this report open for other moderators to take a look at this and share their opinion. Perhaps we can bend the rule? Or perhaps I misread the rule, which can also be the case ...
Okay, so only "English" it is, then.

I didn't do any research, but according to HBO should be the sole original network since Sky Atlantic has different air dates.

Have you watched it? Can you confirm there is no repeated use of Russian all throughout the series?

Yes I have. I can confirm that the main language spoken in this series is English, not English and Russian.

I removed Russian from the spoken languages. Thanks @backfish !
