@VobIdem, I know you OTISes have trouble keeping up, but your chum @Nexus71 has been claiming for years that PIC will never be filmed/released/go further than S1 and has now been delayed due to problems with DIS S4. At least you're agreeing that the delay with PIC is due to Covid.

Nice of you to think Nexus71 is my friend. But we don't really know each other.

I agree a lot with Nexus71. He posts facts, that means truths, about the bad show STD. I like that about Nexus71.

But some people here love the bad show STD, and tell lies to defend the bad show STD. They're silly billies who don't like truths.

Everything after ENT has been lens flare drivel that misses the utopian philosophy of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek.

It's interesting that people who seem to be fixated on the idea of a utopia seem to get off on being negative rather than positive.

Pointing out the fact Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek is a utopian show compared to Kurtzman's dumpster fire being dystopian isn't even remotely the same thing as a "fixation". Fixation is a word that means thinking about only one thing.

@M.LeMarchand said THIS TOO:

So, all that was missing from TNG was some off-colour humour? If only Gene had known.

Reducing The Orville to, in your words, off-color humor implies you've yet to see its two seasons, because that simplistic take misses the mark of any validity.

Read again, I said it was TNG with off-colour humour.

No, YOU read again. You were the one stating The Orville is like TNG, and you were the one to state TNG needing off-color humor in response.

Maybe if George Bernard Shaw were alive today he'd revise his aphorism to, "Those who can, do; those who can’t, diss the work of others on the internet."

If Shaw were alive today he'd be pleading to be killed due to old age, and asking his lawyers to send you a cease and desist letter to you for abusing his works.

But aside from that, it's telling a person who hates Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek, would resort to quoting from a polarizing, contentious a$$ like Shaw to try, and once again fail, to defend Kurtzman's dystopian dumpster fire

What exactly did you think in season 1 would make sense to have a season 2 for even?

The characters, the adventure and the style.

And an easy win at Picard Hater Bingo.

Style?

Oh, you mean the cursing, the smoking, the drug use, the alcohol abuse, the gratuitous violence, the one-dimensional characters, the lensflares, the idiocy of a super secret group known literally even by Romulan kids, the non-canonical USS Enterprise, the out of character death wish of Data, the subpar Jessica Jones copy they turned Seven Of Nine into, the relying on the Borg as a threat only for that to go absolutely nowhere, the dystopia, the ineffectiveness of the Federation in dealing with Romulan refugees, the idiocy that absolutely no one in or out of the Federation stood up for non-organics, the out of character behavior of Picard accepting retirement, the letting murdering women just be part of the crew without any consequences, the sudden vanishing of that useless dog who couldn't even bother to defend Picard from the super secret Romulan group attacking his home, the subpar rehash of the DS9/VOY uniforms, the ridiculousness of cloning Data's mind in its entirety from positrons, Raffaela complaining about her housing situation on a utopian Earth, the copy paste armada Riker got to command out of nowhere, the gravity defying flowers that survive in the vacuum of space, etc etc.

That's not style, that's just trash.

Some of us enjoy watching shows rather than wasting time dissing them online.

I'm sorry you don't comprehend the difference between stating facts and so-called dissing.

Consider watching better shows.

The constant negativity directed here either drove @Invidia away or to breaking point.

Anyway, there are enough people who like STP for it to warrant a second season so what does it matter if you guys fill these boards with your hatred?

I've never understood the need of some message boards users to ongoingly, insistently strive to do their utmost to destroy other people's enjoyment and kill their admiration of a movie, show, or actor/actress they see someone has expressed they're a fan or appreciator of.

If a fan expresses their enjoyment/enthusiasm/admiration of whatever/whomever, why not just leave them be - or at least not, day/week after day/week, go on repeating that their opinions or tastes are somehow wrong or inferior to yours?

Reminder of TMDb's Community Guidelines. Along with everything else mentioned there, take note of where it says to not make "off-topic posts that derail a thread from its original topic." By implication, that in part means you (anyone who's not the OP) shouldn't junk up a fan's thread with a bunch of not-what-the-thread-was-created-to-be-about/for whatever all else.

I too don't understand Mr Hellraiser's anti-Star Trek crusade, and am glad people such as yourself, genplant29, are around to guarantee all the posts are free from personal attacks, as he's prone to.

I wondered the exact same thing when the OP attacked Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek, Seth MacFarlane's The Orville and its fans of well-written, hopeful, utopian science fiction. He has a made-up insult he calls "OTIS", which he loves to use to attack others who don't go along with his closed-minded nature.

On top of that, he has no qualms to equate critical Star Trek fans with racists, Trump voters and corona virus science deniers for some reason.

I hope the OP reads that, because it would make a huge difference to the boards if he refrained from his recurring behavior, and posted actual arguments instead in regards to either utopian futures or dystopian ones, like the one on STP

It of course is fine for TMDb's message board users to civilly express their differing views/opinions. But I think I speak for probably everyone here (not only those on this particular thread, but for users of TMDb's message boards in general) when I say that there's only so much disagreeing, insisting, quoting, etc. that's either necessary or welcome (let alone palatable) on a single thread (or board) before it becomes decidedly unpleasant and tedious, and most definitely drags things down.

Well if in the past I have been guilty of violating community guidelines I apologize Gen but sometimes there is only so much name calling and insults one can tolerate without giving a person an equal reply.I always try to be civilized and patient and always try to give an explanation why I have such and such opinions on things there are just some who are not sensitive to logical arguments. And this thread is just one of many examples where the OP obviously is out to start a riot by already(wrongly) assuming that most fans of Trek are out here to hate things.Which in fact is nothing further from the truth most of us here actually post things because we deeply love and CARE about the franchise and that we hate seeing something so close and dear to us being run into the ground because it is managed by people who don't give a damn about the franchise and neither are interested in making Star Trek more appealing to the masses without disrespecting the lore and what made the franchise great to begin with.
