The ITV television series "Endeavour (2012-)" is a prequel to the popular crime drama "Inspector Morse (1987-1993, 1995-2000)". The show follows Endeavour Morse in his early years, before he became inspector. Actor Shaun Evans is doing a wonderful job portraying the young DC Morse.
The late John Thaw was the original inspector Morse, and his lecacy lives on with his daughter Abigail Thaw, who plays newspaper editor Dorothea Frazil on this show.
Many of the characters of "Inspector Morse (1987-1993, 1995-2000)" (not the actors), also appear here as their younger selves.
So if you want to know what happens to them twenty years later, have a look at the old show.
Side notes:
The older version of these characters in "Inspector Morse (1987-2000)" are played by other actors, of course, as "Endeavour (2012-)" is a prequel that was made a decade later after the last episode of "Inspector Morse".
It's usually easy to make an actor look older, but the reverse is quite a challenge, even with CGI.
To have an actor from "Inspector Morse" reprise his/her role as a - twenty years - younger self in "Endeavour" would be interesting.
