Was anyone else distracted by the main guy wearing those godawful, bright, red socks? I was like no wonder he failed that appraisal. They saw he can't even coordinate a GD outfit correctly.

What's a GD outfit?

goddamn

I was confused and distracted by that too. I thought I would understand it after watching the episode again, but nothing changed. I thought I would find the answer in the internet, but it seems like no one knows about this.

Not in the least.

I need to watch the episode again because it was that good, but if I remember correctly there was only one scene with his red socks.

It did seem significant though (maybe an in joke or reference to something by the director/writer)

Gosh, I have to watch it again but I am pretty sure you can see the socks in the interview/appraisal and maybe at the couples house as I think he went there directly after? Can't remember but it was a damn good episode.

Definitely it have to mean something. Nothing in this series happens for no reason.

In season 4's Arkangel, the mother wears maroon socks all the time

The socks were necessary to the plot in that the character needed something out of place in order for him to comment on it as he played it back in his mind, and he did go straight to the party so would naturally be still wearing them. The socks were no different to a stain on his suit or a missing button, it was just a plot device to set the scene for the 'rice' technology, and realistically a professional is more likely to turn up to an interview with garish socks than with a stain on his suit or a missing cuff.

Hmm, interesting. That seems plausible. OT but I have watched a lot of BM episodes and this one still stands out as one of the better ones. The new season I have watched the first 3 episodes and I only liked the Star Trek one.
