The Detective Boys are invited on the yacht of a wealthy businessman in Shinta City. The owner's wife invited the group to eat on the boat. During lunch, the woman shows guys two videos: one in which the husband swims with the help of a tablet and one in which the man has finally learned to swim. After a few hours, the boys see the entrepreneur jump into the sea and drown.

En Conan i la Lliga de Detectius Júnior estan de vacances i coneixen la Nao i en Kotaro Takiguchi, una parella que s'ha casat fa poc i que tenen un iot molt luxós. Després de convidar-los a dinar al iot, en Conan i companyia veuen des de la platja com en Kotaro es tira a l'aigua per nedar i s'ofega allà mateix. Tot fa pensar que ha sigut un accident, però en Conan no ho acaba de veure clar.

바다에 온 코난, 겐타, 미츠히코, 아유미, 하이바라는 타키구치 코타로, 나오 부부와 만나 정박해 놓은 크루저에서 식사를 한다. 코타로는 맥주병이었지만 집 수영장에서 훈련하여 헤엄칠 수 있게 되었다. 코타로는 코난 일행과 헤어진 뒤 크루저로 바다에 나온다. 코타로는 해변에 있는 코난 일행에세 손을 흔든 뒤 바다로 뛰어들었지만 크루저에서 10m 정도 떨어진 곳에서 빠져 목숨을 잃는다. 나가이 형사는 불행한 사고라고 판단하지만, 코난은 코타로가 정말 헤엄을 칠 수 있는지 의문을 가지게 되는데...
