Discuss Who Do You Think You Are?

Any fans of the show waiting for the first post? The IMDB board was never super busy, but I hope we get at least SOME discussion going here.

Just found out a NEW episode will be on TLC tonight (05 MAR 2017)! Just saw the ad!! Courtney Cox. Even IMDB hasn't picked up on it yet, but epguides has!

I'm not at all a WDYTYA lurker, but happened to notice your post appear on the latest TV boards posts list, so have popped in to check it out.

My best friend, who we mutually consider one another brothers (in actuality we're cousins), was one of the major behind-the-scenes (never on camera) researchers and make-things-happen private genealogists and local historians in Georgia who most substantially contributed input and assistance for the Alfre Woodard episode of I guess it was roughly a year and a half ago. It was a really neat experience, and I hadn't realized how things with production and the such are gone about, till my best friend daily gave me updates about all the latest about what had been going on. When the on-camera "historian" or "genealogist" gives a presentation to a celebrity, so often they aren't who did the research: They're just passing along (and getting/taking credit for) what local genealogists and historians personally themselves unearthed, but that then WDYTYA producers have consulted with their own genealogical and historian experts to confirm the accuracy of before providing the talking points to an on-camera "expert" to present.

I only just noticed the new season had started. That was one of the things for which I relied heavily on the IMDB boards. Have to catch up on the ones I missed on demand.

But that's pretty much standard for television. The people who "do the talking" have staffs of workers who prepare everything they say and do.

Hope you had a chance to see the Courtney Cox episode. It was the first of the new season. And it was a great one!

Watched it on demand last night. VERY interesting. Wish I was famous so they'd do MY genealogy for free. LOL I have some ancestors I'm stuck on.
