Spock's beard

Did anyone else find Spock's beard curious in that episode where they got transported to the alternate universe?
This is actually a test post as I am new here and a refugee from IMDB and just feeling the waters to see if this will be my new home ;-)

I can see no logic in shaving, actually, so the normal Spock's lack of a beard may be more curious.

Yes, but he had a goatee so he was in fact still shaving.

Given that this episode was filmed immediately after The Apple, I'm guessing it was provided by the make-up department rather than actual facial growth. I doubt Nimoy has such an amazing beard growing ability.

Ha ha! I wasn't aware of the schedule but a beard like that would take at least 2 weeks to grow. It ain't no wanna be teenage hipster beard. That's a man's man beard.

Weeellll---maybe. I looked it up. The Apple began filming on July 14 and took seven days. Mirror Mirror started on July 25. That gives him what? A solid 4 day weekend. Doubtful, but maybe Nimoy is a man's man. It takes me three days to get a 4 o'clock shadow, so I'm not a good comparison.

I forget, who was his beard...Uhura? Anyhoo, no homosexualizing in Star Fleet in the alternate universe. So makes total sense.

@styXXX : I think that Spock in the mirror universe's beard ( as in the one on his face) was created so the audience could tell the difference between the "good" Spock and the "bad" one.
