when Crowley killed himself? I understand he was doing it to trap Lucifer, but what was stopping him from killing Sam or Dean? You know other than the obvious their the main characters. Lucifer would have been trapped and one of the Winchesters dead.

I think Crowley will be back. He's too much fun. And I don't think he would have volunteered if he didn't have a Plan B. I hope Cas is back but doesn't look good.

I doubt Crowley will be back, but if he does return, Mark Sheppard will not be playing him. He's done with the show. One of the people behind the show said never said never and Sheppard himself came out of nowhere and said don't do that. https://twitter.com/Mark_Sheppard/status/867566400348356608

I said this before but back in s10 i think..the actors who play cas and crowly said in an interview that they still have a 5 year contract..so if Sheppard no longer wants to play him i don't think they can break a contract..unless they were fired.

They can't break the contract on a humbug, no...but Mark Sheppard has several things going on in his life (sick father, new wife, young children, band) that he might have met with the producers et al and asked to be released.

I don't mean to be funny, but don't be like that producer that Mark corrected. He said he's done with the show. That's kinda the end of it. Again, given the nature of demons on the show, it may not mean the end of Crowley but it means the end of Crowley as played by Mark Sheppard.

The back from the dead and or so and so's twin is an old soap trope that has made it's way into shows like "Supernatural" because they are, well, otherworldly and can easily be explained as part of the show.

It's also, and I'd argue more so, due to shows feeling pressure to have "shocking events" happen, and main/recurring character deaths is (was?) an easy way to do it. Go back 15-20 years ago when Buffy was in it's heyday. It was a huge deal when Angelus killed Janna, or Buffy sent him to hell, or when Tara got shot or Fred or Cordelia died. All these years later those occurrences have become common, and now turned into a trope, but shows continue to do so because they still feel pressure to create buzz and excitement among fans via shocking events, and most often shows can't pull off other (or better) shocking events. Alas often characters are too popular to stay dead (ie: Angel or Castiel, etc) or actors new gigs don't work out (Matt David on TVD/that Occult show he was in).

I still can't believe he had a baby. Also Mark wasn't used properly anymore. It was time to end
