when Crowley killed himself? I understand he was doing it to trap Lucifer, but what was stopping him from killing Sam or Dean? You know other than the obvious their the main characters. Lucifer would have been trapped and one of the Winchesters dead.

Crowley was genuinely tired of being King of Hell. Tired maybe of it all. He admitted he always sided with the Winchesters when it came to world ending events. He decided then to do one final act of selflessness. Maybe somehow it saved his soul.

Im kinda confused..did it take a few mins to get the spell to work..lucifer came in the real world killed cas then him and Mary went to the other world and then the gate closed.

Yeah seemed like a rough edit. If the spell took so long to work, which was just to close the gateway (yes? or was it targeted at Lucifer... have to watch it again) why didn't Lucifer stay in our reality after killing Cas? Seemed like he was being pulled into the "vortex" and grabbed Mary as a final act of "FU" to the Winchesters. Again need to watch the spell making scene to review the dialog. And again about Crowley's self sacrifice... it was indeed sudden and unexpected. Maybe being a rat, a real one, had an effect on him?

Just like "Once" we have lost a host of core characters here; Crowley, Mary, Lucifer, and most importantly Cas. Thankfully neither Jared or Jensen were feeling like exiting the show, too! I do get the vibe the 13 will be the final season. Fitting for a show called "Supernatural". Hey, it's broken the record already for the longest running spook show on TV. Plus I am sure I am not alone in not being that interested in Lucifer's fully grown man-child (Sam and Dean potty training? Keeping it from vaporizing Detroit?)

The kid though I assume has the power to reopen the portal and bring dad (and Mary) back into our\the shows reality.

Ya I didn't expect crowly and cas to due cuz i watched an interview and they said they still have a 5 year contract and that was like 2 years ago. So they still have a contract for 3 years.

I kinda hope they stay dead. I know the writers will find some way to bring Cas back cause he's such a fan favourite, but honestly, a big character death has been long overdue. I think death should finally mean something in the show again, it would be great to see a new reoccurring character that's not just killed off after appearing in like 4 episodes. I hope the writers strive to make a new fan favourite character that is if they do introduce somebody new. However, I would like to just see Sam and Dean on their own for the whole of season 13, kind of a back to basics like season 1. The thing that has always held the show back for me is the insertion of Cas and Crowley, who sadly just didn't work as characters for me after season 5. They become the comic relief and I really hate when they reduce a character to that.

Ya I'm still waiting for Jesse to make an appearance..who better to teach lucifers kid about his powers and Jesse is half human half demon.

Cas isn't technically dead, Jack could revive him if he is good cause he has the power to give grace, Crowley, well this one is hard cause he killed himself in another dimension and demons don't technically die, they go back to hell (Without a vessel), crowley could return in someone elses body ..

From the way the show has always portrayed it, angel blades kill. They don't return to heaven/hell, they cease to exist. Maybe purgatory like monsters, but the show has never made that clear.

I do hope Crowley and Castiel return somehow. Love the characters.

Just finished. I can't believe it! They got to bring Cass and Crowley back, I seriously doubt they will kill them off like that. I can't believe they just stood there and not try to pull Mary back.

Well I think the brothers were in shock. Cas' sudden demise, Lucifer standing there yet again. When he grabbed Mary they just had no time to react.

As for more returns from the dead, well.... once an angel or demon has been killed by the blade(s) that's it. The human host has been dead or in stasis for a long while so it is gone as well. If they do a "Bobby" and have Cas show up once next season in some sort of dream sequence, then fine. Tho some of the Bobby eps (not all but some) have been ridicules (the one where he is in a medieval cell in hell and the one where heaven is a bunch of rooms catered to each persons personal idea of heaven come to mind).

As for the contracts, people on shows like any worker in most jobs are employees at will. If the show decides a character must go then they go. No doubt there is a payout of some kind since the actor committed to the additional years

True, But Jack (Lucy's son) is as powerful if not more powerful than Lucifer..God hates nephilms cause they are powerful because they combine good (humans) with evil (devil) and are usually bad thus why he decreed that all Nephilms be killed but remember this was back when there was a "Death", Death is no more, the Winchester's killed him, the rules may be different now so a powerful nephilim like Jack who has the power to give Grace could restore Cas if he chooses

But 8 thought "Death" only applies to humans. Cass and Crowley are not humans. I'm going to be sad if they are really gone. But Jack (Lucifer's son) seems to like Cass so maybe like you said, Jack can bring Cass back!

I think Crowley will be back. He's too much fun. And I don't think he would have volunteered if he didn't have a Plan B. I hope Cas is back but doesn't look good.

As much as I like Crowley and Cas I also a adhere to "dead is gone". The back from the dead and or so and so's twin is an old soap trope that has made it's way into shows like "Supernatural" because they are, well, otherworldly and can easily be explained as part of the show. Bobby has never gone away and some of his returns have been ridicules (the rooms in heaven ep comes to mind). If we have a Cas ep every season or he resurrects somehow (better) and the same for Crowley and Roweena, it would be truly on the inane side of the show. Also I think the only reason we have not seen John back from the dead is that Jeffrey Dead Morgan has always been busy (though a nice nod was tossed in this past season when Dean had a baseball bat with barb wire wrapped around it ala "The Walking Dead" character he now plays, Negan).

I doubt Crowley will be back, but if he does return, Mark Sheppard will not be playing him. He's done with the show. One of the people behind the show said never said never and Sheppard himself came out of nowhere and said don't do that. https://twitter.com/Mark_Sheppard/status/867566400348356608
