Discuss The Big Bang Theory

Given that it is summer and also during a pandemic, I thought this could be a thread where we share ideas for outdoor activities. Some that I enjoy:

1.Roasing marshmallows over a fire pit

  1. Watching a drive-in movie
  2. Croquet
  3. Badminton

I adore both Badminton and Tennis! And was heartbroken to miss Wimbledon this year as I finally had tickets!

Overall my favourite outdoor activity is a G & T in a pub garden!

It's so good to see you again Lady! That really stinks that you had to miss Wimbledon. cry

A G&T in a pub garden sounds lovely! I've definitely been enjoying a few of my favorite drinks out on my screened-in porch these summer evenings. The pandemic has me working in my yard more on the weekends and planting flowers so that the view from my porch is prettier than ever. sunflower

Also, to shamelessly boost this thread that's not getting nearly enough attention, I enjoy playing cornhole and gardening.

Drinking!

Victimless crime, peeping through the window of that house that's rented out to a bunch of co-eds down the street. Especially when it's panty party night

Is Howard your role model?

The Brady Bunch family used to enjoy outdoor potato sack races. Maybe those of you with astro turf for lawns should try that.

I do nothing outside.

I can do nothing outside for hours on end. If I have to, I may bring a book, but I've found that reading outside attracts pests. They see me reading and think: "That person is bored! He must be talked to immediately!"

I've also noticed that if I have binoculars or a camera, wildlife disappears.

So I sit quietly and enjoy the world passing by.

We are much alike in this area, Timlet. One of my very favorite things to do is sit on my screened-in porch (which I equate with being outside) and just "be". I enjoy the stillness and the quiet. I enjoy the sounds of the birds in the morning and the frogs and crickets at night, and the way the wind feels and the flowers smell. Except where I live the air is also very humid so by the time I come inside I'm sticky. But I still enjoy it very much.

Outdoor activities ain't what they used to be...

Then: Family get togethers in the park…grills popping, kids playing, everyone talking over everyone else, and then challenging neighboring park-goers to games of volleyball and softball.

Now: Sitting on the patio in the early morning quiet…drinking a cup of coffee, and contemplating.

I think the general consensus is that these days being outdoors does not have to involve a structured activity. Actually it's nice just to be able to sit out there and enjoy the quiet. And drink.

In my state, it's legal to not wear a mask if you're exercising. ( My gym goes for that in a big way.) But running, playing, volley ball and softball sure seem like exercise to me.

I'll stick with my eight ounce curls.

I have curls when I don't dry my hair straight with a blow dryer. I've never weighed them before, though.

Another piece of the Lemons puzzle falls into place.

As in "There was a little girl, who had a little curl..."?
