....somebody, kill Eugene.
Make it slow. Make it hurt.
Remind him of every person he's screwed with his lies and cowardice, while he's left to either turn or - for once in his lilly-livered, yellow-bellied, miserable life - man up...
...and put a bullet in his own head, once and for all.

They are treating Eugene almost like they are treating Negan, just teasing us with justice for him, and snatching it away.
He is a poster boy for cowardice isn't he? From the very start he began lying to Abraham and later the whole group just to get protection from them. Now he wants to start acting like he has balls in front of the workers at the bullet factory. In reality he is a spineless buttkissing weasel.

So well said.
I liked Abraham. Selfless integrity. Stand up guy. They take guys like him and Glenn, and leave us with fricking Eugene and Gabriel? FFS.

I have a feeling Eugene will supply the saviours with dud or trick bullets that blow up in their faces. I still want him to die though, he's way too annoying to live.

Really? Maybe. I didn't see anything to make me think that though.
After his capture and escape he seemed all the more committed to Negan and his fight against Rick and the gang. Eugene wants to be protected most of all, and in Negan he sees his ultimate protector. Negan knows how to manipulate people quite well, with the carrot and stick approach on steroids. He has elevated Eugene to a higher station than he has enjoyed since the apocalypse began, and Eugene knows that as long as Negan is around, and as long as he stays on his good side, he will be protected. None of the saviors would dare harm him or hassle him cause they know Negan would probably sizzle one side of their face. He gets his own room, plenty to eat, etc. Nah, I don't think he wants to help Rick and company.
If Eugene had an ounce of courage or loyalty to his friends, then he would already have tried something like that. But Eugene is a coward driven entirely by self preservation at all costs.

It just something they do in TV especially in TWD. It would just be a twist for shock value. It would seem unlikely but maybe what Rosita said actually got to him and he knew they wouldn't just let him go back alone. They wouldn't trust him. It's just a hunch mind you I can very easily be wrong.

No I get it. Yeah, they do throw in twists like that. It would be a great time to do that since they didn't do anything to telegraph it and it would catch us all by surprise. They have to come up with something to keep it interesting since they are boring us with the 'going to kill Negan' tease.

Eugene is looking out for one person: himself. He will to anything to ensure his own safety. No, I don't think he cares to help Rick and co. at all! After his near capture, he seemed all the more determined to help the Saviors. And that crap he was eating, OMG gag worthy.

Wow I was right. I know I sound like I'm bragging. It's sad though it just proves to me how lazy this show has gotten.

Eugene is the "Dr. Smith" of the show and the only comic relief they got.

I found much more approachable humour in the opening seasons from good writing. I, personally, find nothing about him in any way enjoyable or endearing. That's just me.

Right. At first he was an oddity and a little funny because of the novelty of his speech. And his weak character had not yet been expressed in a damaging manner back then. He was just a goofy character. Now they have morphed him into another bad guy who slips through their grasp.
They are really overplaying this "aw shucks! almost got him but he slipped away again" trope, and not just for Negan. Do the writers really not understand that we are conscious and paying attention? Do they not realize that they're not building up an intense desire to see these people meet justice by letting them escape, but instead making a joke of the show?
It shows a real lack of insight and imagination to keep using that formula over and over again, just with different sets of characters and situations. If they would at least make these escapes seem a bit more credible maybe I wouldn't mind so much. But it's like a worn-out punch line of an old joke now. There isn't any mystery to the show. Any surprise twists they might throw in have no effect on this worn out trope. The audience knows essentially what is coming: injustices done, professions of determination to kill the bad guys, bad guys cornered or trapped who inexplicably get let go or otherwise escape. Rinse and repeat.
