Item: Mouse
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: I went in to this TV Show page yesterday and added some guests stars to episodes 1 and 2 and removed actor from regular cast that were not in all 20 episodes.
Someone else went in and and deleted all of that and added actors for the whole season. None of these actors actually show up on the first episode except Jo Jae-yoon (Character name Daniel Lee). I wanted to report it because I do not want be correcting things only to have someone change it back. I have about 50 people to add for the first two episodes and I just don't want to have to do it more than once. Not sure how am I supposed to approach this.

Hi New Rat. There is no fixed order for the actors. They change up every time. At least on my browser. The only arrange by the number of episodes each actor is in the show. So far I have watched until episode 4 and none of the actors are on all four episodes and to my understanding you can only add them if they are in each episode. I think maybe an admin will have to let us know.

This is what the TMDB says about adding actors for series regular
"Only the series regulars who are in all episodes of a season should be added as season regulars. If a series regular is only in half of a season, they can be added as a guest star instead."
And I interpreted this as don't add actors if they are not on the episode.

I think that's how TMDB wants actors added so that's why I did that way.
And the more episodes you add the actors in they will start going to the front. So the order will be fixed once the show is complete. But I think we might need a clarification from a MOD so neither of us wastes time on adding things. Lets wait and see what they say :)

To put this is politely as I can, you might not think it is important to, for example, only add people as season regulars if they appear in every episode of a season. However, the only way that a collaborative project like TMDb can be consistent is if rules are decided on, and then everyone follows them. If everyone did things how they personally prefer it, it leads to conflicts like this.
If you disagree with the rules and think another way of doing this would be better, then you need to raise the suggestion of a change to the rules. Just going against the rules you don't like isn't going to help them get changed, and will only make people fustrated at the time they've put into something that's now been wasted.
Anyway, in this specific case, if the rulee are followed and all the information is there that's supposed to be, it will result in the main actors going to the front. So this maybe isn't even a defect in the rules, if the problem is only caused by the data being incomplete.

So it should only be people that are in the episodes correct? Cause i am about to start changing things and i wanted to make sure it was done right.

Hello to all,
in regards to this issue in general, you can read the following post that I just wrote to a similar thread:
https://www.themoviedb.org/talk/58b3d0cbc3a3685254013f85?page=1#60661fb6158c850042a54fa1
The issue here is that there is no technical solution at the moment and that our rule is a compromise that not everyone agrees with at the moment. I wish I could give better advice, but I'm afraid there is no perfect solution right now.
If you want to see examples of how I decided such cases personally in the past, you can read the following posts:

Ok got it. I will leave the main characters that show up in most of the episodes as regular cast and add everyone as guest stars for this. Thank you for the clarification!
