We usually wait around 2-3 years to mark a show as Ended if there's hasn't been any news of continuation or cancellation.

I'm pretty sure there wasn't any such rule. Whenever any show got over and given the Status Field is locked I had always asked to change the data and the mods (including you) always changed it for me.
And regardless there isn't any information for a continuation from the official sources.

Unlike American TV, anime is produced as a one-and-done season by default. So unless the production committee announces otherwise, the show is over.
