There are now three images (including the one that I recently uploaded) for a particular actor - Tetsuya Watari. I'm wondering what determines which image is downloaded as cast metadata to my Plex Server application. I successfully uploaded the image that I would like to see appear for this actor, yet Plex continues to download an image from Watari's profile that I really dislike. Is there a way to control which image I get? I've done everything on the Plex end, including choosing the proper metadata agents and clearing the cache for them. Thanks for any help ;o

The image with the most votes.

Only Plex support can answer this question.

API - Update Delay
All data or images entered here on the TMDb Site are immediately available here on the Site.
Text data (titles, overview, cast etc...) in less than 1 second.
Images (poster, backdrop etc ...) take approximately 10 to 30 seconds.
It depends on the traffic at the moment.

But for a request made using the API, it will only be available within a maximum of 8 hours.
This period may vary depending on the flow of Requisitions.
Updates to TMDb Servers that are responsible for servicing API Requests are made periodically.
They are not done immediately.

In addition, in some cases, APPs or Services may also use the Cache feature.
The data may be available through an API Request to TMDb's servers,
but are not yet updated on the website or service, such as Letterboxd or Plex.
So, only when the website or service you use, update the information will you have the updates.

I will also add the word Plex to the title of this conversation.
This will make it easier for other users to search.

Thank you - I obviously wasn't asking for Plex support at TMDB. I was simply illustrating my issue clearly in case that info was relevant. This was my primary question: I'm wondering what determines which image (if there is more than one for an actor's profile at TMDB) is downloaded as cast metadata to my Plex Server application. Not understanding APIs yet but I will research now. Will receiving an API key help me choose a specific image to download as in the above scenario?

In all items (Movie, TV Show, People Profile) there is a main image which is the image displayed on the homepage of each item.
As I mentioned above, this image is determined by the amount of user votes.
Most scraper tools normally use this image as the item image.
I assume PLEX uses this image as the Default.
Some Scraper tools have the ability to display all available images for the user to decide or choose which one to use.
I don't know how the PLEX Scraper tool works or what features it provides.
I personally use MediaElch as a scraper tool.
And it has this feature to choose the image.

Not understanding APIs yet but I will research now.

PLEX as well as MediaElch and all Scraper tools get data from the TMDb using the TMDb API Service.

Will receiving an API key help me choose a specific image to download as in the above scenario?

I do not think so.
The PLEX Scraper Tool probably has its own TMDb API Key.
So I think that if you use PLEX, or another scraper tool, you don't need your own TMDb API Key.
If you use MediaElch you don't need your own API Key.
But if you want to create your own scraper tool, write all the code, then yes you should ask for your own API key.

I have a couple few Feature Films on Plex Tv distributed through Film Hub. I'm not sure why the cast images are not on there. They have all the information on there from IMDB, but not the cast images. How can this be fixed? Without the cast images, it makes the film look cheesy. Please help.

You need to ask this to the Plex support team.

How do I go about doing that? There is no way to contact them when it comes to technical things. There's only a billing and a legal department.

I think maybe Plex can help with these links.
