The Movie Database Support

Hi, I'm using Tmdb Helper addon in Kodi and noticed that the lists like Trending Movies, etc. are not updating in all my Kodi setups at the same time. I tried exiting and re-entering Kodi but that didn't help. Only if I uninstall and reinstall the Tmdb helper addon then the lists refresh immediately. I thought that everytime the lists are refreshed on the website, the lists will be refreshed on Kodi at the same time as well. Is it not the case? Could you please let me know why this is happening? What might be the issue? Thanks!

I believe that the question falls under this condition.

API - Update Delay

All data or images entered here on the TMDb Site are immediately available here on the Site.
Text data (titles, overview, cast etc...) in less than 1 second.
Images (poster, backdrop etc ...) take approximately 10 to 30 seconds. It depends on the traffic at the moment.

But for a request made using the API, it will only be available within a maximum of 8 hours.
This period may vary depending on the flow of Requisitions.
Updates to TMDb Servers that are responsible for servicing API Requests are made periodically. They are not done immediately.

In addition, in some cases, APPs or Services may also use the Cache feature.
The data may be available through an API Request to TMDb's servers,
but are not yet updated on the website or service, such as Letterboxd or Plex.
So, only when the website or service you use, update the information will you have the updates.
If the problem is with Plex, you may be able to resolve it by reading the instructions on this link:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/202967376-clearing-plugin-channel-agent-http-caches/

Ok thanks! So by caching do you mean that the old list contents will be displayed for a few hours until the api is refreshed. Is that why I'm seeing different contents for the same lists on my different Kodi setups for Tmdb helper?

Basically, yes. I don't know how this Kodi Addon works.
But it may be that in addition to the delay in updating the TMDb servers, there is also an Addon cache, which can extend this period a little further.
This is just a possibility.
If I'm not mistaken, Letterboxd and Plex have their own kind of cache.
I don't know if this Addon also has it.
Only the author of the Addon can clarify this point.

Hi, Yes the author of the addon clarified that the addon has a 24 hrs. refresh time and I noticed the same on the addon itself. The lists got updated after 24 hrs. Thanks for all the help!
