Is there a reason why this isn't solved yet? Shouldn't be a big deal to upload a flag. On the other hand the benefit would be huge.

I think that only the current countries have a flag.

Means, if a country 'vanishes', the flag will get deleted?

By now this looks like something went wrong. If no flags, then at least a pic with "SU" on it would look much better.

What about Kosovo?

And why is Northern Ireland even there in the release dates? As something has been released in NI, it would then be entered under a UK release. At least I couldn't find any NI release. If its legit, ok. But then we need a flag right?

seems problem not solved, if country does not exit and by this reason there is no flag so country should be removed... everyone knows that SU was union of 15 countries, so move movies to there countries where they filmed...

Many countries and borders have changed since the beginning of film. When available, please choose the producing country as it was named at the time of production. For example, Soviet Union is added to films originally produced in the Soviet Union (1922–1991). Czech films produced before 1993 typically have Czechoslovakia as their country.

In a similar fashion, United Kingdom is used for content produced by England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. For example, production companies based in Belfast are part of the United Kingdom rather than Northern Ireland.

every guidelines is writen by human and can be rewriten by human... the best solution is remove all flags everywhere and keep only short letters....
