Looks like ACT has acknowledged the issue, see here: https://twitter.com/nithinpb/status/1085171906523906049
I'd suggest replying and mentioning you guys are all affected by this. Can't hurt to have more people pinging them about it.

Thanks for the heads up. I've replied to them too.
If you don't mind, could you please try replying to them with the official @themoviedb handle informing them that a large amount of traffic comes from india and this block could be construed as a violation of net neutrality? Maybe then they might take it more seriously.

I am using ACT from Bangalore as well, I have been contacting them and posted on fb and submitted a ticket. All they say is that its blocked by TRAI and when I ask what the reason is they dont have an answer for that. I have checked in Airtel and other network as well, it works fine. I have written an email and tweeted to TRAI but no response from them. I have been posting on FB page of ACT about this. This is just ridiculous coz I am using this with an app where it pulls all the metadata from this site. If you guys find any solution please let me know.

They have unblocked the site thankfully. They don’t even know what’s right or wrong in the first place.

Airtel has blocked themoviedb.org domain which is a big deal here in India its market share is about 29% please tell me if there is any mirror of tmdb. I have also added a tweet here https://twitter.com/sanchit_gera/status/1096769323903774720 waiting for their reply.

Oh!! I was thinking of switching Airtel but now there’s no point if they’ve blocked the site. Dunno when these people are gonna act sensibly. Even I would like to know if there’s any mirror of tmdb, please let us know.

There doesn't seem to be a lot I can do as a non Indian resident. TRAI seems to be the ones who have ordered the block and what I've heard from some users who are ACT or Airtel customers is that the ISP's are pretty quick to just blame TRAI.
The API is also accessible at api.tmdb.org but one user mentioned that ACT (at least I'm pretty sure it was) was also blocking tmdb.org. So that wasn't a solution either.
I don't have much else to offer, it's just generally bizarre that we're being blocked.

Thank You That was very helpful but i am unable to understand why TRAI Blocked it , It Wasn't violating any law tmdb is used here widely also alexa ranking of tmdb for india is great i would suggest you to launch a .in mirror.

I don't see how a .in mirror would help. Like they blocked the tmdb mirror they might as well just block that too.
