Assistance de TMDB

Hey everybody,

I'm hopeing you can shed a little light on the order tv shows should be entered on TMDB. As tvdb is promoting airdate order I can't find a rule for this case on TMDB. Thought it would be here https://www.themoviedb.org/documentation/editing/television but maybe I'm just blind.

There are some shows that already run into problems here, e.g. firefly or season 2 of futurama.

Cheers

I think it figures it out automatically depending on what sort you want by using the episode number for absolute ordering and then air date for air date order. Considering season 2 of Futurama, as you pointed out, episode 2x06 aired 2000-02-20 while 2x07 was 2000-02-13. Air date order would put 7 first, but absolute order would put 6 first. What problems are you running into?

Hi Kolja,

We try to also enforce original air date, not any other order like say, DVD order.

If there's a show that is incorrect, feel free to mention it in a report and one of our mods can take a look. Once fixed, we can lock the field to make sure no one comes in later and messed it up.

Hey Travis,

can you please add this as a rule on the page mentioned above? Would be really good to have a rule in place so new users don't have to wonder.

To wake up this old topic...since it happens constantly....... Can you please create a NEW order so TV shows can be shown in the correct desired order instead of airdate order. Example...it is WELL known and even acknowledged by Fox that the show SLIDERS (1995) first few seasons were NOT shown in their INTENDED order. They were shown in an order to get viewers. The problem is that this leads to inconsistencies in the series as well as errors in when you see something. A couple examples: Season 1 episode 3 SHOULD be and was created to be Summer of Love. Being that at this time they had only slid a few times and at the end of the episode they discuss how many Earths there may be. They even talk about there may only be 6. This makes no sense if you watch this in the aired order as you can estimate at that point they have already slid 15-20 times at least. Also, at the end of that episode they slide into SF about to be hit by a tidal wave putting the city under water. The episode that should be #4 The Prince of Wails picks up where it left off as they are on the top of a building trying not to slide into the water with a huge shark beast. AIRDATE order actually has these two episodes flipped around. For those of us that don't care about air date but rather correct viewing order is there not a way you can add a separate list order. This would allow PLEX and Filebot and other apps to give the end user a choice of how they wish to have THEIR files ordered. Another great example would be Babylon 5. While the airdate order is what most people use...many of us use JMS's desired order for B5, Crusade, and the B5 movies. We can order and watch then based on how the man that made the shows wants us to experience his vision. Seems only logical to allow that since we all know networks will screw up everything!! And of course, the pre-mentioned shows like firefly and futurama just to name couple. There are MANY that the airdates totally ruin the binge watching experience... Something maybe you will think about.. Thanks!!!

To add ... I know on the tvdb they despise any order given by any widi site...which is a joke since those are usually the REAL orders shows are supposed to have been shown in and verified by many other people.....but, here is a great list of the Sliders series with the shows in the corrected order they were MEANT to be shown in..... In other words, they were created to be seen in this order...NOT in the order they were actually aired in. http://sliders.wikia.com/wiki/Episode_descriptions
