The Movie Database Support

Hi Travis,

Wondered whether we could add the following jobs :

Carpenter

Casting Associate

Hair Department Head

Thx

Mod edit:

You can request missing crew jobs in this topic. The new crew jobs have to be English and free of spelling mistakes. Please specify in which of the following departments each new job should be created: Directing, Writing, Editing, Camera, Production, Art, Costume & Make-Up, Visual Effects, Sound, Lighting, or Crew.

Kindly try to avoid making duplicates job requests (search the last few pages), or requesting crew jobs that are already added to TMDb.

Job request for an on-screen credit that says "Program concept by..."

A series called Karelasyon uses this credit. You can view from the playlist on the official network's YouTube channel any one of the episodes' end scene credits and see that onscreen credit being made.

Hi team TMDB/Travis,

Can you please add the following job to your esteemed database and oblige?

CREW Post-Production Intern

I've been credited in a feature film as a Post-Production Intern, but have been unable to add this credit, since the said job isn't part of your database yet.

Thanks!

Recent requests added to the Master List...

Post Production Intern has been moved to Production.

Planning to Production

Please add these crew positions:

Visual effects

  • Digital Asset Manager
  • Assistant Digital Asset Manager

These can fall under both departments: Visual Effects AND Art Department

That can't be done, it's either one or the other. also, it's better to use the list format, because just "enter" doesn't make a new line.
Unless you end the sentence with two spaces, and then hit "Enter"

Okay then can you add both positions to both departments then? 4 new positions.

Nope... that would make it duplicates.

On the second page of this topic, Inbetween animator is proposed, but I think it gets lost or discarded when someone comment on it with "I had a little trouble with some of the categories sp1ti requested ( Episode Director, In-Between Animation, Finish Animation, In-Between Check) These seem specific to Japanese Animated films."

I edit a bunch of japanese animated films now, and Inbetween Animator - is a very common credit there, that I until now have skipped because I guessed it wasn't significant enough or something since it wasn't on here. For example, I am about to do the crew of The Cat Returns (Neko no ongaeshi 2002) and there are 71 credited inbetween animatiors. On Mary and the Witch's Flower (Meari to majo no hana 2017) there are 160 credited Inbetween artists usw. Is it meant to be overlooked just because of the sheer number or credits associated with it? Or is there any other reason (to be honest I'm not complaining since adding inbetween artists often would make a Film fix up take about three times as long.

An inbetween Animator/artist does this, from wikipedia: Inbetweening or tweening is a key process in all types of animation, including computer animation. It is the process of generating intermediate frames between two images, called key frames, to give the appearance that the first image evolves smoothly into the second image. Inbetweens are the drawings which create the illusion of motion."

Other titles I see are Digital Ink And Paint (37 credits on The Cat Returns, 50 on Mary and the Witch's flower) Background artist (17 credigs on The Cat Returns, 34 on Mary and the Witch's flower.

They should be under Visual effects I guess since there is no Animation department?

I just want to know if there is reason to add them, or if I should keep on skipping.

Stop Motion Set ? Puppets? Art Department? Stop-Motion Animator? Grade?

EDIT: CGI Animation Director, CGI Design, CGI Animation, Runner, and Emotional Projections- here?

EDIT: Saxophone, Clean Up, and Tracking- here and here?

I would like to request:-

CREW: Assistant Choreographer

This is the Master List which includes recent job requests and a large number of additions. I would be grateful if you could check to see that your requests have been included

The following are job requests I've made that have not been added to that masterlist:

Screenwriter, concept, series producer, program concept, stop motion set, art department, stop-motion animator, grade, CGI animation director, CGI design, CGI animation, emotional projections, saxophone.

Here's a discussion about the credit "series producer" (in which a mod provides evidence to validate the need for a "series producer" credit).

EDIT: What about adding "Film Editor", "Assistant Producer", and "Graphics"?

New request: "Composer"?

Saxophone you have in "musician", Film Editor you have "Editor", composer you have "original music composer" Screenwriter is "Screenplay"

How do you know that? (i.e. how are users supposed to know to use other already existing but different job titles? instead of requesting for new job roles?)
