Hi Travis,
Wondered whether we could add the following jobs :
Carpenter
Casting Associate
Hair Department Head
Thx
Mod edit:
You can request missing crew jobs in this topic. The new crew jobs have to be English and free of spelling mistakes. Please specify in which of the following departments each new job should be created: Directing, Writing, Editing, Camera, Production, Art, Costume & Make-Up, Visual Effects, Sound, Lighting, or Crew.
Kindly try to avoid making duplicates job requests (search the last few pages), or requesting crew jobs that are already added to TMDb.

Do you have a link explaining Production Designer as a producer credit? I have only ever heard about production designer as an art department job.

I don't, but I could rustle up some examples where that specific term is used, and it's obvious from the credited person's past filmography and credits that they're a producer and not an art person.

No need. I trust you. I'll amend my original post regarding this.

Would it in some way be possible to make all the words in a job be searchable? So if you type "mixer", "sound re-recording mixer" also shows up, and so on? As it is with cast & crew names?

We have Matchmove supervisor, but not Matchmove Artist. Should be added to the visual effects category.
Then, I don't know, but shouldn't the visual effects category be cleaned up? Things should probably be called "VFX something" or "Visual effects something". Now there are both which makes it hard to find.

Currently, both Original Character Designer and Character Designer roles are all fudged together as just "Character Designer".
They are actually two distinct roles: an Original Character Designer draws the original concept designs for the characters; the Character Designer then has the more technical role of turning those concept designs into model sheets and checking layout drawings before they are animated, to ensure that the characters are on model. Very often the same person is credited as both Character Designer and Supervising Animator, but not always.
The two are frequently found in Japanese animated productions which are original or based on a novel that's not illustrated throughout, so, unlike a comic, which already has designs for the Character Designer to adapt into model sheets, they need someone to create the characters so that the Character Designer has something to work from.
There are several ways that the Japanese ã‚ャラクター原案 has been translated, but Original Character Designer looks to me to be the simplest and most direct to the point of those that are used often.
So I am, therefore, requesting the adding of Original Character Designer to the VISUAL EFFECTS department (as that is where Character Designer is currently located).

Is it not Director? In a lot of cases it is the the same people? What would be the reason? If we add director to tv can we not assume tv director?
Same with adding alt title in the comment field of alt title? Or adding french to comment of alt french title?

So then you want to delete Director all together?
Add Movie Director
MiniSeries Director
Documentary Director?
...
Movie Actor
TV Actor
Movie Producer
TV Producer
...
Confused...
Again why?
Did not Banana change handles?

There is already a 'Series Director', for what it's worth.

Do not understand that at all, sorry.
Just my 2 cents, will leave this to mods and TB.
Good luck.

True already exists, so again why are we asking to add it?
There is also
Series Writer
Series Publicist
Series Composition
Even more confused now!

Bing says Series Director is:
Series directors are responsible for how an entire series of programmes looks. They work on big-budget, multi-camera programmes, either in the studio or on outside broadcasts. A multi-camera production is one in which there are many cameras filming the programme.
Movie Series: ie Harry Potter, Twilight, Star Wars, Divergent.
