The Movie Database Support

Hi Travis,

Wondered whether we could add the following jobs :

Carpenter

Casting Associate

Hair Department Head

Thx

Mod edit:

You can request missing crew jobs in this topic. The new crew jobs have to be English and free of spelling mistakes. Please specify in which of the following departments each new job should be created: Directing, Writing, Editing, Camera, Production, Art, Costume & Make-Up, Visual Effects, Sound, Lighting, or Crew.

Kindly try to avoid making duplicates job requests (search the last few pages), or requesting crew jobs that are already added to TMDb.

What department for those? Writing for the first and Art for the other two?

Still waiting for Travis to add the latest big batch, but I know there are lots of other priorities at the moment.

bump (: about the departments, I'm not sure, but they are already in crew list without the "supervisor" so I guess the same for all of them?

Added more to the Final list

I have added more ..to the list

See Page 3

Maybe time to remind Travis again? Hopefully he sees this. :)

I have added yet more to my list on page 3....

Lineker you may need to update your list which is also on page 3

I'll post this again because you seem to have skipped it Not an addition but if you check under stunt there are 2 Stunt Coordinator one is Stunt Coordinator the other is Stunt(s) Coordinator

and an addition to to crew Writer: Manga I mean if there is Writer: Book/ Writer: Novel /Writer: Comics. Why not have manga there's a large number of movie being adapted from Manga

Yes, the "stunts" one is incorrect.

Wouldn't comic book cover manga? But I guess if they are actually credited like that we should add Manga for sure. (Edit: See answer below by sp1ti)

If someone could compile a new master job list - to get them in one post at the end - I would be very grateful (busy with so many other projects now). That way it will be easier for everyone to see what jobs are already on the "add-list". Thanks. (Edit: Thanks Torq00!)

Manga is just the Japanese word for Comic. The credit is already there. Otherwise you will end up having to add Manhwa, Light Novels and other variations as well... Feel free to use https://www.themoviedb.org/keyword/13141/movie however.

@lineker

I can do the master list :)

thanks for clearing that up, well in my free time i ended up searching for Manhwa based movies hardly any i could only think of one, light novel well cant trust wiki but it says 24. movie based on manga in wiki has about the same as comics maybe more if not because of the page format. I just cant get over with why there is a Crew: "Graphic Novel Illustrator" and also book and novel hahah.

I would never bother to differentiate between "Comic" and "Graphic Novel" so I don't support that split either. "Novel" and "Book" are also not something I would carry over (it just describes the type of content in it or it's length)... So, is that something that should be merged too on TMDB ;)?

Btw: only looking at movies is a bit restricting. You'll find even more instances when looking at Anime (TV) for Light Novels, Manga, 4koma, Games (regular, Mobile, Visual Novels (eroge, otome)) and what else there is.

I think Comic Book / Graphic Novel and Book / Novel should be merged too. I only add one or the other if in the credits it specifically says book instead of novel.

New crew job (I think - unless it should be listed as just "Casting"): Original Casting. I think that's like, when Person X casted the main characters, and maybe casted like a first season or something. But then in the next season there's Person Y taking over, but the main characters have still been casted by Person X, so Person Y is credited for Casting, and Person X for Original Casting. I've seen lots of shows with original casting, and always wondered if I should credit them (as casting) or just leave them out. But maybe a new Crew Job is the solution?
