TV has been brought out of the private preview and is now available for everyone to see.
Please read the information below.
Please understand that this is indeed a preview. While there was plenty I could test while I was developing this feature on TMDb, being stuck in a vacuum like that can only expose so many things. If you find a bug please report it on this thread.
What I would like you guys to do is search for your favourite shows and look through the data that was imported. We're still importing data in the background so not all of your favourite shows will be here yet. This import is expected to take a few more days still (as of October 10, 2013). Please do not report missing shows until I have said the import is done.
When you're looking through things, there's one primary thing I would like you to keep an eye out for and that is, shows that should clearly have a season or more but don't. There was a small issue that seems to have affected a percentage of shows (I think around 2%) where their seasons were not imported. Please report those below.
What can you help with?
The data that was imported is real world editable data. If you see an error, fix it. This is the point of giving you guys access. With more of you trying to edit different things we'll discover the bugs and issues faster. There's a list of known issues below.
Known Issues / Pending Features
Closed Issues
Import Status
The initial import of data for all 60,522 shows is complete.

Does this mean that Tv Series listed on tmdb as movies, existing and future ones, are going to be (re)moved? My site fetches information on both movies and tv series using the current API, it would be a pain to have to implement yet another API just because of this. I can however understand that you might want another API specialized in Tv Series but why not let the information be available in both APIs and if you want extended TV related information you have to use that one..

PeterAlex, done.
No. We plan to come up with a way to bridge the two media types. There's a number of users who have enjoyed our white listed TV content (specifically, mini series) in a single entry format via movies and those will remain.
Lets not confuse those single entries and this new TV content though. TV is a whole other beast and will feature its own fully featured APIs that match the content.

Couple other issues for you Travis....Under "Production Info" here: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/155-3rd-rock-from-the-sun/edit?active_nav_item=production_information If you enter a production company it will not save it. It says save completed successfully, but the information doesn't stick.
Never mind on the second one, it's noted in your original post about the season posters not showing correctly. I'm assuming since I get nothing it's from you working on it now.
On another note, the episodes are saving now....Nice Job! Got a lot to add for you now on several shows that aren't in there yet.

One more glitch, Travis...when you add a new episode and select the date from the calendar selection, it shows correctly in the box. However, after you click save, the date on the main page shows one day earlier (ie. Select 1996-01-09 and the date on the page shows 1996-01-08). Now if you edit that episode and select the 9th again, this time when it saves, it saves correctly.

A good thing you could add is opening credits. We have trailers for movies, opening credits for series would be great I think, we do that on WTM:
http://whatthemovie.com/series/lost
http://whatthemovie.com/series/modern_family
http://whatthemovie.com/series/how_i_met_your_mother
Also, I'm not sure the actual overviews are the best things we could do. I think we should do the same as we do for movies: a quick abstract relating the story of the TV Series instead of giving so much informations as when it was premiered etc. I am talking especially for people using the API.

Hi Travis,
I would like to try the TV section too. If I have access I'll take a look in order to help you fixing data errors.
Thank you very much and regards,
Victor Guerrero

Maybe. I have plans on adding trailers to seasons, but not sure about opening credits. I'll give it some thought. Here's the relevant ticket.
Victor, you've been added.

Oh wow, this is awesome! I'd love access!!
I'm more interested in using the API to be honest, and I know you said there isn't a public API yet, but if the JSON is more-or-less done, would you be able to paste some sample data?

I just disabled the private preview. Everyone should be able to see ad search for TV now.
Please remember this is still a preview! I hate calling things beta but that is what this is. There will be bugs! There will be annoyances! I'll get through them all, I just need time to work on it ;)

Not sure about this but this movie entry should be a TV show entry according to imdb:
http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/220903-life
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1533395/
But we also have http://www.themoviedb.org/tv/16946-life already in the TV section so I don't know.

kinoute, we will still allow mini-series content in the movie section (as one entry). Eventually, the 220903 entry will be linked to the TV entry where all the episode data is.
