TV has been brought out of the private preview and is now available for everyone to see.
Please read the information below.
Please understand that this is indeed a preview. While there was plenty I could test while I was developing this feature on TMDb, being stuck in a vacuum like that can only expose so many things. If you find a bug please report it on this thread.
What I would like you guys to do is search for your favourite shows and look through the data that was imported. We're still importing data in the background so not all of your favourite shows will be here yet. This import is expected to take a few more days still (as of October 10, 2013). Please do not report missing shows until I have said the import is done.
When you're looking through things, there's one primary thing I would like you to keep an eye out for and that is, shows that should clearly have a season or more but don't. There was a small issue that seems to have affected a percentage of shows (I think around 2%) where their seasons were not imported. Please report those below.
What can you help with?
The data that was imported is real world editable data. If you see an error, fix it. This is the point of giving you guys access. With more of you trying to edit different things we'll discover the bugs and issues faster. There's a list of known issues below.
Known Issues / Pending Features
Closed Issues
Import Status
The initial import of data for all 60,522 shows is complete.

Thanks. It's been something I've planned for a long time so to see it coming to light is awesome. Still got a ways to go but 5 years ago I did with movies too 😉
Yup, this is outlined in the TV API preview thread. For any API talk, we should focus it over there as it will keep things nice and organized.
I did see that, great work. As soon as you think it's ready to be showcased let me know.
Thanks.

I just noticed that the IMDB ID for TV-episodes won't stick around when saved.
Also, an observation with regards to the cache issue I had. The TV credits did appear immediately when I added an image to a profile with no images. Otherwise it's still a bit random when the credits will appear. However, before they never appeared. Now they do appear at times.

Mind trying now?

Yes, it works now. Thanks for the quick fix.
Btw, do you want a list of entries with no seasons? I haven't really been looking that hard for them, but so far I have came across 18 entries.
I also have an ongoing list of TV-entries that should be deleted, but that could perhaps wait until it's possible for us mods to delete them.
EDIT: It would be neat if the person links would be clickable when editing. For example, guest stars or season regulars. It would save me, and others I presume, a lot of time when sorting through and cleaning up the imported data.

Will there be any support for country specific release dates at episodes?
Have not found information for this and i think it would be great to add release/air dates for other countries ( maybe with the addition: PAYTV, FREETV and what else ;) )

Hi Nobodys1,
This is not planned at this time. It's something we're aware of and will think about in the future but the amount of data involved there is truly intense and we're primarily focused on the meta data around TV shows and episodes right now.

I can't edit the TV Show regular cast or crew. When I click on edit the website only shows an empty page (just a table header with "Season Number", "Name" and "Air Date"?). I think this is related to LH-579. The Ticket says it is resolved but I cannot add new people via the TV edit dialog, too. The edit page for cast and crew is always emtpy...

I can't replicate this so I'll need some extra details.
Thanks!

Hi, here are the requested informations:
I tried with "Accused" (ID 32940) or The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams (ID 24123).
Google Chrome / Iron
German
Further tests shows that I can edit crew and actor data on TV Shows which have a german translation (for example: The Big Bang Theory, ID 1418 or The Walking Dead, ID 1402). It seems to be a language related problem...

Are there any news here? I'm the only one with this problem?
I'm still not able to edit the tv show cast or crew on tv shows which are not translated to my account language (german).
I want to fix the "double actors" which are the same but they are divided into a "movie actor" and a "tv show actor" and I don't want to translate all tv shows (which are not interesting to me ;-)) to german...

Hi rocman,
I never created a ticket for this and it kinda went off my radar. Here's the ticket for this, I should find time for it this week.
Cheers.

Hey Rocman,
Can you give it a go now?
