In order to save her "seriously ill" adoptive father, the heroine Jing Qi'er went down the mountain to Wangyou Tea House to look for the magic medicine - Guiyuan Pill. She met Huan Yunhua, the master of Yunshan Pavilion, who pretended to be the tea house that had been missing for many years. The young owner of the tea house comes to rob the tea house, and the two pretend to be a couple "with their own agendas". However, an old grudge is involved, and an unexpected combination of circumstances restores the reputation of the tea house and they fall in love with each other. The Wong Fei Hung Series is a 1996 Hong Kong television series of five stories about the Chinese folk hero Wong Fei-hung. The series was produced by Tsui Hark and starred Vincent Zhao, Maggie Shiu, Max Mok, Lau Shun, Kent Cheng, Hung Yan-yan, Power Chan and Cheung Chun-hung in the leading roles.

So (Dicky Cheung), the only son of a landlord in the countryside, had had a quarrel with a retired eunuch and thus escaped to the city with his fiancee, Kwai (Lam Yi Kei), and his fellowman, Wing (Chiang Chi Kwong). They met Hung and again they started a dispute. In the end, they made peace and So even asked to become Hung’s student. However, Hung refused. So, nevertheless, followed Hung and made friends with his students, Gai (Ho Po Sang), Chi (Andy Hui), Kwan (Tsang Wai Kuen) and Hing (Yip Yuk Ping).

Whilst So was having fun at Hung’s school, “Po Chi Lam”, he also started a complicated relationship with Yan (Winnie Lau), who had returned from abroad, and Chu (Gigi Lai), a young prostitute. Then, he had row with Bo (Bobby Au Yeung) who set him up and accused him of wrong doings which also involved Hung and his students. The eunuch with whom So had quarreled also appeared to get his revenge. What could So do?

Before the reform, the people of Fengyuan village suffered from starvation in spite of the countless honors that they had received. A higher-up has been sent to conduct inspections in the village, so preparations have been made to supply each household with food and rations that will have to be returned once the inspector leaves. Young farmer Qin Xue'an is appalled at the harsh reality. He makes a trip to Anhui by chance and discovers that they have abundant harvest due to land reform. Upon his return, he immediately tries to implement the same but is detained on charges of obstructing peace and order. Fortunately, the government had soon mandated the need for reform which led to Qin Xue'an's release. In the next forty years, Fengyuan Village will undergo many groundbreaking developments.
