I read Miss Bacall's autobiography (titled By Myself) back when it first came out and recall it being a very interesting read. Bacall - born Betty Joan Perske - was quite the beauty, and with sex appeal to spare.

Read her autobiography years ago....What a woman - and what a couple ! - she and Bogie. When they were on the screen together -sizzle celluloid.!! By the way genplant29, kudos to you for opening up so many of these boards. Let's hope there are plenty of contributors waiting to contribute!!!

I've seen her in a couple of films but don't know that much about her. She was a startlingly handsome woman!

She was, of course, electrifying opposite Bogie. Truth be told she wasn't one of the great actresses of the era - she didn't have an awful lot of range, although she was capable of above-average performances when used well - but she was certainly among the most stunning and the most iconic.
