Seeing as it's a new year, I don't know how much longer I may take part in this: the hating day after day, week by week, month by month, etc. It's sad and repugnant.

Um, maybe this is my goodbye, especially to genplant. I just don't care too much for this anymore.

Anyone else feel the same way ?

?

Maybe I will leave this up to Funkadelic, who said, "If you don't like the effects, don't produce the cause...."

...(M)aybe this is my goodbye, especially to genplant.

I very much hope you'll stay, Cell. Please do.

Now that we're in a new year, this thread is ideal place and opportunity for me to remind all message boards users of TMDb's Community Guidelines. Those guidelines exist for good reason, and should always be adhered to by everyone so all can co-exist here in a non-hostile, non-demeaning, welcoming, respectful, and hopefully pleasant posting environment.

Please stay, Celluloid Fan.

I think there is mainly one poster here (I might be wrong) who appears to be weirdly obsessed with you. Ignore that person, do participate in any threads that person might also post on, but avoid replying to that person specifically-- in other words, "Don't feed the trolls", as they say.

That's what I have done in the past.

Now, having said this, you of course have to consider your own mental health. I have all but abandoned other (non-film) websites in the past when I have felt they've become pervasively toxic. Thus, if you feel you must leave TMDB, that is understandable. But to echo genplant29, I hope you will remain. I have greatly enjoyed your views on film you've shared on this website over the years, and would be saddened if you left.

I have been on countless forums and this site is top on my list where I often gravitate to when I want to relax with my cup of tea. The posts here can vary from intellectually challenging to simple and informative, but they're all engaging and there is always something that tickles my brain.

Every user has one's own unique style and characteristics, and when one is absent or leaves, one is missed.

Take a break from posting if necessary, but stick around, you're always welcome among us who appreciate your input on this site. relaxed

We'll see, northcoast, we'll see.

I echo those imploring you to stick around. We've had our friction but you contribute value that does indeed make this site richer.

Hope you hang in with us.

[Edit] I removed part of my original response because, on reflection, it was neither useful nor helpful. Hopefully, this will improve my efforts to encourage @CelluloidFan to stick around, which was the only point I wanted to come through without distraction.
