It's been many years since I last saw this, but remember I was thoroughly impressed by it the multiple times, decades ago, when I did. This is a truly dazzling film, with the most deluxe of production values. It's a visual spectacle, that's exceptionally gorgeous.

Performances, etc.-wise, I no longer really recall much, specifically, and perhaps now wouldn't be as absolutely impressed as I was the times when I watched, and fully "ate up," this movie as a much younger adult. Back then this was, without question, my very favourite contemporary film for several years.

The nine Academy Awards that this movie won were: (1) Best Picture; (2) Best Director; (3) Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium; (4) Best Cinematography; (5) Best Art Direction-Set Decoration; (6) Best Costume Design; (7) Best Sound; (8) Best Film Editing; (9) Best Music, Original Score.
