On this very night, ten years ago, on this same stretch of road, in the dense fog, just like this, I saw the worse accident I ever seen. There was this sound, like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building. And when they finally pulled the driver's body from the twisted, burning, WRECK, it looked like... THIS! (Makes a hideously deformed face, causing Pee-wee to scream.) Yes, sir. That was the worst accident I ever seen.
Anyone get freaked out as a kid at this?

Here's the scene in question.
I was a young adult when I went to see this in a theatre, though that scene did most certainly very much grab my attention and startle me. Such a fun movie!

I was 11 & my younger sister about 7 when we saw this on VHS without knowing a SINGLE thing about this movie (my mom blind rented it when we lived in Puerto Rico). That scene scared the EVER LOVING SH** out of BOTH of us!!!! Holy crap! Completely unexpected! haha

Probably ruined various young viewers from ever being able to know someone named Marge without utter fear filling their heart. lol

Tell em large Marge sent ya! That scene still cracks me up and that's exactly what I would say if I met one.
