Discuss Bob Lazar: Area 51 and Flying Saucers

This dude says he was educated at MIT and Caltech but supposedly the government destroyed all traces of his education. The knowledge he claims to have would be very difficult for a layman to teach himself on his own. How about just give him a test?

This is true but he did claim to have worked in the field for quite some time. It is very easy to give him some tests that people who work regularly in the field would say, "Ok, this is basic shit. If he doesn't know this then he is completely full of it. " Also back when this story first broke, Stanton Friedman who is a nuclear physicist and a pillar in the ufology community tried on several occasions to interview Lazar and he always stood him up. Perhaps he was afraid of being exposed since Friedman is, in fact, a bonafide physicist? I wanna believe Lazar's story is true but there are just too many holes.

As far as professors names and students is concerned I can believe a student who kept to himself would fly under the radar at schools like MIT where each classroom has like 150 - 200 students and you rarely ever get one on one time with the professor.

Yes, but he claims the government used spooks to "clean" his record. MIT claims there is no way to LEGALLY expunge records so that doesn't prove anything. I still say the guy is full of shit though. grin

Have you seen the film???

Did you like it???

As long as it's ENTERTAINING enough let him LIE.

Most of the other stories that writers tell us are also FULL of LIES as well.

grinning

Yes, I watched the film but I have been following his story since it broke back in the 80s. I am a firm believer in UFOs but this guy just doesn't pass the smell test.

It's not a myth. There are way too many credible witnesses to the phenomenon for it to be a cover story. What happened was that when UFO sightings began to be prominent in the late 1940s the government began using them as cover stories to hide some things they were up to. I can point you to several documentaries or books that will convince you. Of course, there are MANY stories and charlatans out here looking for attention or looking to make a quick buck that obfuscates the real deal. I think Lazar is one of them.

That is the Travis Walton story Fire in the Sky. I'm actually on the fence on that one and leaning more towards BS. What makes it convincing though is that they were trying to charge the other guys with murder when he disappeared and they all passed lie detectors tests. I don't have much confidence in lie detectors test but when 5 guys take it and pass that is definitely something. Also they were not very good friends with him so it seems crazy they would risk going to jail to cover this story for him. Also here we are almost 40 years later and not a single one of them has gone back on the story. There is another interesting one called Allagash abductions which seems credible as well. But those stories are nothing compared military men and pilots who come forward with stories which are very convincing. Check this out when you have the chance:

That's the Betty and Barney Hill story. That is the first abduction story (although far from the first reported) that really blew up in the media. That's another one I am not too convinced on. Honestly, I am not much convinced with any of the abduction stories. I don't write them off but I don't believe them wholeheartedly either. The Rendlesham Forest incident is a good one and of course Roswell. Do you know who Edgar Mitchell is? He was one of the Apollo astronauts and was a firm believer in UFOs and stated that he knew for a fact the government was covering it up. He also used to live in Roswell and he actually spoke to eye witnesses who admitted to him that the entire story of recovering a crash UFO and bodies was 100% real. There were literally about 100 corraborating witnesses. There is another story by another astronaut of the name Gordon Cooper who said a film crew shot a UFO land in a desert and take off who was under his command and he saw the film and sent it to the government. He also witnessed UFOs when he was in space. These people have no reason to make this shit up and only came clean with it YEARS later because the guilt was eating them up.

Yes thanks again MN.

Did a search and found them at Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barney_and_Betty_Hill

I've seen documentaries where they interviewed astronauts, but aren't familiar with their names.

One of them also explained how he'd seen a pencil shaped object or something, and others tried to claim what they'd seen was some kind of refection off of something?

If UFO's do exist, one also hopes I won't be one of those they abduct.

Because the abduction stories also don't sound like there a very pleasant experience to go through.

You are very welcome and I wouldn't worry too much about being abducted. grin Like I said, there is a huge chance most of those stories are BS.
