Thanks for your report! slight_smile

The Contribution Bible says:

"While it is not officially supported, we sometimes tolerate good quality posters made from non-official material to be used as fillers for upcoming movies until official material is made available. However, it is better to wait until the movie is confirmed and/or in production."

Question is: Is the poster a good one and we could/should keep it?

I'm not an image expert, but I think it's fine ... see_no_evil

I removed it:

No posters made from material unrelated to the movie (e.g. book covers or the soundtrack) or any unofficial material (e.g. candid pictures), or "fan art" posters created by amateur or professional artists.

edit: Oh, I can see how that can be confusing. If my memory serve me right "we sometimes tolerate good quality posters made from non-official material to be used as fillers for upcoming movies until official material is made available." was written things like a good paparazzi photo or an historical pictures (for documentaries) that makes an okay-ish temp poster. It's pretty rare tough.

I actually thought that the paragraph I quoted was directly related to this sentence you quote here. Meaning, don't use those, but that's our single exception we can accept. I also read "non-official" and "unofficial" as synonyms, which might be not the same in English - I guess I learned something. wink

I would understand paparazzi photos for people profiles - but how can you make a poster for an upcoming movie out of a paparazzi photo? Do you mean someone shoots a photo from the set and then makes a poster out of it? I can imagine posters based on historical pictures - but the other one sounds weird. Can you remember any such poster from the past here on TMDb?!? spider

Yup, but that might not be the most realistic example. It would have to be a pretty good paparazzi pictures and a contributor with great skills. stuck_out_tongue

good quality posters made from non-official material

I think this is the relevant part. They are actually custom poster created from non-official material. Not the actual book cover (that's just misrepresentation).

That's why I can't imagine something like this ...

Ah, okay. Now I get it. Thanks @banana_girl! kissing_cat
