Discuss Seita Mortal

I have to say, Parks (R.I.P.) fkn nailed it in this film. Every role I have ever seen him he was fantastic. The film also includes a cast of some great actors in a little more than bit parts including John Goodman, Kevin Pollack, and Stephen Root. It's too bad their talents are wasted on such a mediocre film. Obviously influenced by the real life events of Waco and Ruby Ridge, Kevin Smith takes a stab at illustrating the real life dilemma of dealing with religious nuts and the over reach of the government with the patriot act if not a bit lopsided IMO. I think the religious nuts he portrays was not that much exaggerated to what happens in real life. However, although I've never been much of a flag waving, rah , rah, USA type of dude but the way the government is portrayed in this film is cartoonishly laughable. Do I believe that government alphabet soup agencies autonomously act irrationally at times? Yes, but I do believe they would treat a foreign Islam religious nut terrorist quite differently that would treat white, American, ultra right-wing nut jobs. I could definitely believe that they would put the order down to kill everyone on site for an Islam terrorist organization but American "Christians" ? I doubt it. This wasn't the only problem with the film but that stuck out the most to me. It was such a face palm moment. Smith had such a great run in the 90s and then... shit like this. Seems like he blew his load back then as here we are 20 years later and not one decent film.
