Discussão Um Príncipe em Nova York 2

Surely an excessively high user score for what is generally agreed to have been a poor, disappointing film. Apparently a relatively small number of 10/10s can really skew the scores on this site. It's at 5.3 over on IMDb which seems much more reflective of the quality of the film.

I don't think traffic here is high enough to obtain an accurate score, and fanboys will always throw 10's around even though no movie is worthy of a perfect score.

Hmmm, yeah, I've always wondered why the traffic isn't higher here since I don't think there's even a close 2nd as a replacement for the defunct IMDb forums. I suppose there's a subreddit somewhere for film discussion, but have to think mods there would be a lot more strict about posts.

It's definitely gotten a LOT worse, no question. At first it was pretty sh!tty, then it was great, then it got sh!tty again. IMDb, Yahoo, and NPR (among others) got rid of their comments sections completely. Can't have people voicing opinions, apparently. It's too upsetting to the people who thrive on being upset.

Of course, I like the site, but the boards can be a rather negative environment IMO, with their "cleverly" deployed negativity & digs against people, for whatever reason. I can quite easily see why this is a low-key affair. IMDb's boards were often worse.

Somehow reddit manages to keep people civil and they must have more traffic than any other forum , but yeah I've been called a racist on here by some half-wit who's probably still calling people racists. I don't recall personal attacks on the IMDb boards, just a lot of slagging on sh!tty movies.

I recall some personal attacks there. Many of them were against me. But whatever.

IMDb is horrible. They just deleted 3 of my recent reviews.

I actually posted the same review of the Michelle Obama movie THREE times on IMDb from three different accounts and they deleted every one.

I haven't been censored here yet that I'm aware of.

It was pretty innocuous, honestly, but the headline I think is what they didn't like:

"Becoming" a woman who married a guy who became president.

And I notice that there really aren't that many reviews on there based on the supposed popularity of the film and Obama herself, so I have to think they've been deleting a lot of reviews.

Of course, hahaha.

There is a JavaScript API that lets you subscribe to boards but they don't have subscribe/unsubscribe buttons on the individual board pages.

@acontributor, what do you mean when you say that the individual boards don't have a subscribe/unsubscribe option? Most definitely every TMDb message board does; as an example, look over in the column to the left of this thread, and you'll see the click-on option to either Subscribe or Unsubscribe, likewise to either Watch or to Stop Watching any thread you happen to have open at a given moment.

Subscribe is when you get an automatic notification e-mail every time someone newly comments anything on a particular thread, whereas Watch is if you prefer to get only red-bell notification.

Subscribe is the site's automatic default setting for users of the boards (when a person creates a thread or comments anything on one), though many users, primarily ones who've been here since the beginning (Feb. 2017), prefer the Watch option (which you can manually switch to in your personal account settings) so as not to get a lot of notification e-mails.

Regarding boards that no one has ever yet created any thread(s) on, you can subscribe to any of those of interest so you'll be automatically notified when/if someone eventually does create a thread(s). Go to any such board and you'll see the option to be notified when a thread is posted.
