AGREED.

I know, right? And only a measly 11 Oscar nominations, pfffft.

THINK ABOUT IT..EVERY YEAR EVERYONE COMPLAINS ABOUT THE LONG,BORING,PRETENTIOUS CRAP THAT GETS NOMINATED AND OR WINS AT THE OSCARS...YOURE PRECIOUS,FITS RIGHT IN.

Whatever you say, caps-master.

THANK YOU...IM GLAD YOU AGREE,CAUSE ITS THE TRUTH.

Reports said that Todd and Joaquin were constantly re writing the script on set and shooting the new scenes the next day. Just with that fact alone Im amazed at how well this film turned out. I think it deserves all the praise an nominations its getting. Hollywood should take notice and see that they dont need a $300 million film to be successful, but you do need passion...looking at you Star Wars.

THAT CONSTANT REWRITE THING IS A BIG REASON WHY THE NARRATIVE IS SO SLOPPY AND THE OVERALL FILM IS SO DISJOINTED...PHOENIX NAILS THE ROLE,BUT FILM AROUND HIS PERFORMANCE IS SERIOUSLY FLAWED...MINUS THE JOKER BANNER,THIS FILM WOULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH SMALLER AFFAIR WITH MUCH LESS LIP SERVICE.

I disagree. I think the re writes helped. I think it made the character more potent, complex, and flawed. But I do agree that it did feel a bit disjointed at times. Not the fault of editing either, but the way it was shoot. Again I think it works, at least for me anyway.

Absolutely agree with you on this.

I even found some parts of characterization being inconsistent and were included just because it may have sounded cool to them.

Well, it was dragged out. Maybe to make you feel you spent a lot of time with the Joker, more than you actually did.

My beef: Pretty girls may have helped a lot. No woman was visually striking in the film. Lacked something there.

What exactly was "disjointed" about the storyline?

The fact that Joker is 30-40 years older than Batman. When batman gets to his prime, Joker would be a pensioner

Batman? Where was Batman in this movie?

In the end of the movie, where his parents are killed

We don't even know for certain that Arthur Fleck is the Joker we know. He could be more of a precursor to the Joker we know.
