Discuss The Little Mermaid

According to the Western Media all dubbing of Ariel (Halle Bailey) in a non-English language should be done by black women speaking the native language of that country.

However, in some countries, for example South Korea, it is not done by a black woman and they are now called out for colourism and racism.

What do you think? thinking

I think its a shit movie and the media is trying to help as much as it can by screaming 'racism!' Oh and Dani from New Jeans is a fucking angel and sounds wayyyyy better than Bailey.

I feel like this is a non-story - one tiny obscure media website reporting on a single Spanish site and painting it as "Western Media". Click bait at its worst.

They even cast POCs in roles that are based on white people...in history. Its all stupid. Oh look a black Queen Elizabeth, cool I guess.

'The Little Mermaid 2023' box office performance: Revenue and analysis

'Why does The Little Mermaid have a slightly lower box office performance?' Cause it sucks lol. This might break even, but not at the box office. With Across the Spider-Verse and Transformers coming out, its just going to dry up real fast. See what I did there? Dry up?
