...the black guy being abducted in the beginning. Is this to say they are just randomly abducting black guys off the street and not just through Rose's boyfriends?

Probably to give the audience some action and angst. Otherwise, we would have had to wait an hour before confirming our protagonist was in danger.

In that case that was a bad idea. The movie would be much better had the viewer gone into it not knowing about the danger.

Maybe, but didn't the trailer already imply it?

Sure, if you watch the trailer. But I often bring movies to show friends and family on the spot without telling them about it. In fact, I may just skip the first scene when showing it to them.

yeah... no one asked because its not an issue... why not? it's not like rose has a monopoly on abducting people... why not cruise looking for a good specimen... its a movie, not everything needs to be explained to the audience, thats more fo a TV aesthetic...

I disagree. I think it was a poor tie-in. It wasn't connected well to the rest of the story, other than a black person being kidnapped. Didn't mesh how everything else happened thereafter.

ermm.... it kinda did... he's the same dude they meet at the party... the one who tells him to "Get Out"...

He is? I didn't get that at all. Okay.

yeah.... it's easy to miss

I was quite pleased with myself that I recognized him right away...me bein' white an' all........BAM!

What was the whole point of the black guy being abducted in the beginning.

Yes, not only is he the same guy they meet at the party (the one who tells him to "Get Out") but he is also someone that Chris and his comical friend knows from their neighborhood.

I assumed it was Rose he was talking to on the phone (in hindsight, when we also learn it was Jeremy who abducted him).

Right and we later learned that he had been missing for 6 months. We also know that Rose and her boyfriend had been together for 4 months. So he was the previous victim.

Also, unless I missed something where did Georgina come from who was supposed to be Rose's grandmother. She obviously wasn't one of Rose's boyfriends

Maybe she was one of Rose's girlfriends? 😃 Or Jeremy stepped up.
