Discuss Suspiria

I have been anticipating this movie for a couple months and when I checked on Fandango and IMDB, it states that it is coming out on 2 Nov, which is this weekend, however when I do a check with my local theater, Cinemark, it is not on there schedule. So I am wondering if this is a limited screening or that certain theaters will not show it. As of 1 Nov I still have not seen it on their schedule, the same thing happened to that film Mandy, Cinemark did not have it on their schedule as well, so it makes me wonder if Certain theaters only show certain films.

I guess it depends on where you live. In Seattle, it just opened in about 5 theatres; I saw it at a Cinemark one.

I can't find anything about it coming to South Africa. Guess I'll just have to go swimming in international waters.

It has been out awhile in the states, however, it has a very limited release here, I think it was shown in the real big cities, like New York, LA and DC. In fact the nearest location that I could find was in DC, they didn't have the film within a 50 mile radius of me. I find it odd because this was hyped up along with horror films that were coming out this year, well all those came out, however this one was limited to specific areas. Hopefully you have a better chance of finding it.

More "prestige" films do a limited release in order to gauge interest and build hype. I guess the results didn't bode well for Suspiria. Guadagnino's stuff is always just a little too edgy to have mainstream appeal, sadly.

I saw it at my local drive-in on 11-06-18, it played there for about two weeks then it was gone. I was under the impression it was limited release, and very surprised when it showed up at my drive-in. I read at first it was very limited, then it expanded to close to 250 screens. So yes overall, this movie was limited.

At least you got to see it, it was not shown no where near me, in fact the closest I could find was in DC.

You can catch it now, it was just released on DVD and Netflix on January 29th! It will also be out on Blu-ray February 2nd (a few hours from now.)

THANK GOD FOR THE FAST FORWARD FUNCTION.

I take it you're probably talking about that very long end scene with all the weird stuff taking place on stage?
