Discussão John Wick 2: Um Novo Dia para Matar

I watched it for the first time yesterday and could not believe how many times he manages to pick himself off the ground.

Yes, I know this franchise is at its core action porn and I guess someone might use this thin argument to explain why it's "ok" for this to happen in order to prolong the life of the story until the next action scene, but this film is utterly ridiculous.

Wick gets hit at least twice by a vehicle moving at considerable speed and he just... stands back up!? And keeps on fighting!? It's absurd. Then there's the fact that he can walk off dozens of bullets. Wearing a Kevlar vest won't save anyone from what he endured. (Also, of course nobody aims for his head.) They could have at least shown us the bruising, but no, Wick is invincible in this film. How are we meant to be invested in a character who isn't even human? Won't see Chapter 3 in theaters that's for certain.

Well John Wick ain't no robot. As for the Rambo comparison, I don't ever recall Rambo being beaten up as hard as Wick has been.

Didnt they show his cut and bruising in the first film at the hotel? And Ive seen video of some crazy guy selling his vests by getting shot by a 7.62×39mm round in the chest point blank range. So Im sure in the world of John Wick light Kevlar clothes can stop a 9mm just fine.

I'm talking about Chapter 2.

The issue is how many times he's shot though. Wouldn't he have blunt force trauma over his entire torso?

It's lazy writing that all Wick has to do is wear a Kevlar suit to survive anything.

He left Hotel California, except it was in NY. That's why they are mad at him.

Its not lazy writing, its film writing. The world isnt realistic. So you have to suspend disbelief.
