As always, in no particular order (except for the first 2):

After the Thin Man

My Man Godfrey

The Great Ziegfeld

Libeled Lady

Dodsworth

Craig's Wife

These Three

Poor Little Rich Girl

The Green Pastures

Stowaway

Dimples

Captain January

Honorable mention:

Reefer Madness

I'm not at all good at coming up with year-by-year faves lists (otherwise would more often participate). But for 1936, a year nicely represented in my personal collection, I feel much better able to than usual. The ones (listed alphabetically) I have - which I guess makes them the favourites - are:

  • After the Thin Man
  • Dodsworth
  • Give Me Your Heart (Kay Francis fan here)
  • Little Lord Fauntleroy
  • The Petrified Forest
  • These Three

For fans here of either of those particular movies, I just now checked and see that all except The Petrified Forest have TMDb discussion threads (or thread) that have been created.

I, too, enjoy a number of the titles the two of you have listed. I'd definitely have a DVD of Craig's Wife, however none (so far) for Region 1 has been released.

And the only film I've seen from 1936 is Sabotage. So I guess that's my favourite.

Some good choices in this year. Let's see ...

  1. My Man Godfrey
  2. The Petrified Forest
  3. Modern Times
  4. The Devil-Doll
  5. Libeled Lady
