Side notes:

... Excerpts from The Flash movie is complete madness (but also incredible):

The Flash movie is hitting theaters this summers and hopes are high. It seems that it’s for good reason too, as DC writers tell fans it’s incredible.

2023 may be the year of The Flash. On the same year that his incredibly successful long-running TV series will wrap up its ninth and final season, the Scarlet Speedster will star in his very own DCEU blockbuster movie on the big screen. It won’t be Grant Gustin that plays the role, but Ezra Miller, who previously played the character in films such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Justice League(s).

Is this the plot?

CinemaCon 2023 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas on April 25, 2023.

... Excerpt from First reactions: 'The Flash' wins raves at CinemaCon for 'nerdy details' and 'big heart':

"The Flash" wasted no time running right into fan's hearts.

An unfinished cut of the eagerly anticipated DC superhero film (in theaters June 16) premiered at CinemaCon Tuesday night before a packed house of theater owners, studio executives and journalists.

Yours truly thought it had a big heart and found the narrative, which centers on the Flash (Ezra Miller), who uses his super-speed to save his parents and in the process accidentally breaks the world and meets his 18-year-old self. The film puts a nifty superhero spin on a "Back to the Future"-type tale, and Michael Keaton's return as the Caped Crusader after 30 years is a good reminder that he's the best movie Batman of them all. (For real, he should have done way more of these back in the day.)

The Flash Movie Review - John Campea - Video

I for one am really excited for this movie--

TWO Batmen?! (Batman is my favorite superhero of all-time, and I loved Michael Keaton in the role)

Wonder Woman? Super Girl? The Flash? Perhaps even others, all in one movie? As a member of the seemingly ever-shrinking DC fanbase in a world ruled by Marvel (cue the classic movie-trailer announcer guy voiceover when you read this), perhaps this DC movie can actually put up some decent resistance to the Marvelers?

The thing is, I'm not even big into the Marvel-DC rivalry, and as I said, I only really like Batman when it comes to superheros (and I haven't even seen Ben Affleck in the role, only West, Keaton, and Bale) . . . but I'm definitely going to be in the theater when The Flash is released.

Really looking forward to it; I hope I'm not disappointed.

Is Candice Patton in it? Her wiles alone could be worth the price of admission.

If she is, it is only in a 'flash' cameo with Grant Gustin.

Kiersey Clemons plays Iris West in the movies.

DAMN IT!!!

Kiersey Clemons plays Iris West in the movies.

I was joking, but Kiersey Clemons will do for my eye candy quotient just fine :-)

No Clooney...?!

:-)

Hi, DRD!

Okay, so here's the thing:

I really had no interest in seeing any of the iterations of Batman between Keaton and Bale (so no Kilmer, either). Because I'd heard nothing good about those movies. Now, in Clooney's case, I did hear him give an interview about this that was very humble; he owned the fact (?-- it's really subjective, I suppose) that the version he was in was not a good movie. But, sheepishly, he said that when you are an actor, and someone offers you a role like Batman, you don't turn it down. Which I respect.

Now, I have since seen Clooney as Batman (or more precisely, Bruce Wayne), during his very brief appearance in The Flash (2023), and it was a cameo I rather enjoyed. So I guess you could say, that I have seen George Clooney as Batman. Sort of. :)

I forgot Kilmer, shame on me!

Yep, sounds like my impression of the dude. Seriously.

he owned the fact (?-- it's really subjective, I suppose) that the version he was in was not a good movie.

I've found myself disagreeing with actors who disown some of their work which I appreciated (Morgan Freeman AND Bruce Willis' disdain for The Bonfire of the Vanities is one example that jumps to mind. Tarantino disowning Natural Born Killers is another). It happens, and it's kind of a weird position to be in.

But, sheepishly, he said that when you are an actor, and someone offers you a role like Batman, you don't turn it down. Which I respect.

You're keen to respect that! It's a topic that comes up not infrequently in any movie discussion board. Actors don't work 9-5 and don't have a sure pay cheque coming every 2 wks. And, even A-listers must audition, and do get passed over for roles they really wanted. As much as ego must drive people to try to make it in the movie business, it takes a healthy dose of humility to balance it all out. Actors have to hustle, and aren't sure if/when their next role is coming. So, yeah, we'll often see our fave actors in crappy movies and wonder, "why did they take that role?"

But, a role like Batman? Especially at that time with the roaring success of Keaton's Batman? Yep, if you audition, and win the role, you don't turn that sh!t down! Especially to be on set with colleagues like Arnie, Uma?!

Now, I have since seen Clooney as Batman (or more precisely, Bruce Wayne), during his very brief appearance in The Flash (2023), and it was a cameo I rather enjoyed. So I guess you could say, that I have seen George Clooney as Batman. Sort of. :)

How about that!
