This movie's hype is out of this world. Disney pulled out all the stops with advertising...I can't look ANYWHERE without seeing something about this movie.

That said, I have ZERO interest and will be waiting til it airs on Starz or similar...I'm sure I'm in the minority. I'm just not a fan of the synopsis and the whole wannabe "James Bond in the jungle vibe". I'll be front row for Avengers Infinity War though.

I've heard the James Bond comparison before.. I don't really see it.

Really good movie.

You sound surprised...

I do?

Marvel seems to have reached saturation at this point. They have a large body of loyal fans, but it's getting harder to get new people to see the films, because you are either into Marvel or you aren't. Films like Black Panther and Captain Marvel actually have more potential, because they have specific appeals that might bring in a new audience.

$200 million that's great! This superhero movie looks different from the rest. It has an Avatar feel to it, so I will drag my butt to theater to see it.

@A to Z Yep. It's now predicted to top 210m+. I watched it today with my family. It's was more than excellent. Planning on going to see it again and again. (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/)

Wow, it made $75 million on Friday's box office alone! It's looking to reach $210 million for the weekend.

So far the New York Times put the earnings to date at $218 mil domestically and $387 mil worldwide. Waiting on the actuals from Box Office Mojo tomorrow, I want to see how it compares to Justice League's total take. It'll be hilarious if it exceeds it, even though getting close to it is already giving me the chuckles.

LOL .

Well, in just in 2 days, it is nearly beating it's 3 months domestic box office.

JL Domestic box office to this date is $228 million

BP Domestic box office to this date is $218 million

In 2 days, it is quickly surpassing JL's 3 month foreign box office, so get ready to giggle! rofl grinning

I'm not particularly concerned with box office, opening or total run. Some of the greatest films of all time did not do extremely well at box office, while other films far less than masterpieces cleaned up at the box office.

I'm interested to see if this is a good movie.

However, the box office performance should hopefully contribute to the ongoing conversation about whether a producer can make money, domestically or worldwide, on a movie with a non-status-quo cast. People are free to go see, or not go see, any movie they want, and the droves of people going to see this movie, even with all the efforts out there to encourage people not to see it for whatever reasons, is noteworthy.

Superhero movies have made money all the time without an A-list start to draw in an audience. That's the magic of these types of movies. People come for the characters and stories, not necessarily what male or female actor gets into a costume.

People are free to go see, or not go see, any movie they want, and the droves of people going to see this movie, even with all the efforts out there to encourage people not to see it for whatever reasons, is noteworthy.

The reasons are not noteworthy. They are rooted in racism, imo.

Box Office Mojo reports $235,000,000 Domestic and $404,000,000 World Wide (though admittedly not actuals)...still hilarious. rofl

I'm just waiting for the next Ant-man film to beat Justice League. Will be hilarious. Can't wait.

Well, damn! BP beat JL in a freaking weekend. That should teach DC and their bland approach to story telling by being just grainy and incoherent.

Do you get something out of that?? Really? U own Disney stock? or do you just like sucking on the little mouses ballz???

So the actuals came in at 242m. Currently at 426m worldwide, and it has yet to open in China, Japan and Russia. A billion looks like a foregone conclusion at this point. So Marvel studios will have two billion dollar films in one year. A feat that DC has yet to achieve with any film, or even come close.

Oh how sweet.
